Do you like many others consider the original Twin Peaks (l990-9l) (NBC) a soap? No matter what I found & still o mesmerizing & that beautifully haunting score b Angelo Badalamenti was perfecto for it It was an extention of his (David Lynch's) brilliant yet bizarre 1986 Blue Velvet This even according to Lynch himself He really specializes in villians, used to be a website about them alone Of course Hopper n BV was leading the charge as Frank Booth Can you believe e earned is sole acting nomination that year, but instead for Hoosiers (***1/2)? But the '92 release of his Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me was a disaster (*1/2) & only hit $8m. Then there was the recent Twin Peaks: The Return on tv, it started very much a let down, but picked momentum

WHAT DO YOU GET IT ON NETFLIX,ETC?

Also just saw 1935's British classic from Hitchcock The 39 Steps & stronglysplit with Leonard Maltin(usually agree with him) He ranks it his 5th all-time favorite motion picture I thought it very god (3 & 1/2)ut not in same league as a Vertigo, Rear window, North by Northwest, etc To each his own of course! poor *Robert Donat-l905-58)suffered al his life from huge lung troubles, reason he only made it to sage 53

Good article/post &I somewhat agree with him, tho8gh thought '89's Batman was marvelous, especially *Nicholson& The Dark Knight was excellent 4 strs! & a couple more, but enough already About 6 of the top ten biggest $hits$ are comic book related? See they constantly make big $ough$because kids go back and back & even more popular worldwide -
Nothing against Godzilla fans, but I like Kong a lot better

& Lon Chaney, Jr (l906-l973) could be a fine actor besides See High Noon, Defiant 0nes & of course the legendary 1939 Of Mice and Men (P.S. who saw the 1992 remake with Malkovich& Gary Sinise? Plus there was a good tv movie with Robert Blake and Randy Quaid)

Asa kid The wolfman was by far the scariest of the Universal Monsters Jack Pierce dserved a special statuette for it's make up & string score again

Saw it on HB0about 2 months ago & overall very good (***1/2) not among the great bio's though & a massive $hit$ at abiot $245m. domestically alone also won Academy awards fir sound, Sound effects & Film editing (AGAIN, EXCUSE ERRIRS, It'S THE FORUMS AGAIN)

a few I kinda just watched again on spectrum's cable on demand again Keep asking dies anyone also have it, but no answer? I was also simultaneouly busy when they were on, but seen them several times before The Pink Panther (l964) Meant as a James bond type of franchise for *David Niven, but obviously the genius Peter sellers had other ideas Great opening montage & that nommed score by *Henry Mancini (strong (***1/2-out of 4 stars) (P.S. sellers is always listed among Hollywoods most difficult stars, likely main reason his awful heart all his life) I UNDERSTAND unquote Bride of Frankenstein (l935 Universal) all by now saw this classic, better than the '31 original I think anyway Main reason that score by Franz Waxman & the humor injected Karloff literally hated playing the monster because of the painful make-up, reason why he only did 3 Premiere magazine (l987-2002) once conducted it's own in house poll/survey of several genre's & for Horror it voted this as 1st ever made, around 1993 or so) (****-stars!) People don't realize a couple Karloff things He hung outwith Hollywoods Irish Mafi though a lime y & was a very strng actor, see 1945's Body-Snatcher) Glengarry Glen ross was on HBO again & Ill always say it, *Jack Lemmon delivered the performance of his life as Shelley "The Machine" Levine, but wasn't even nominated, though *Pacinowas for support-(there goes the Academy again) (ALERT: It's do9ng it again, only on here, eating the wrds/deleting them, etc) Alec Baldwinwas superb in a cameo not in the Mamet play Only grossd $11m. (strong 3 & 1/2)

To TopBilled, icon said you relied somewhere here, but cannot find you? I know you didn't go to many new releases I used to starting at age 17-18 for 1982-(a great year at the theatre, gave ten new releases 4 stars myself) Though did fairly crappy come Oscar night, I was so green at it. Pint being I made a point of gong to between 36 and 60 new movies per year, but in recent years-(also due to $finaces$ & heath) I go to about 20 at best & rarely go back as I always used to on certain one's I thought great Planning to see THE IRISHMAN though? -

know exactly what your saying Avengers: End Game is by far the highest grosser at $858m. of 2019 & runner-up only to SW: The Force Awakens ($937m. domestic only) of all-time & the majority now of the top ten biggest $hits$ are comics, except a couple like *Titanic see they keep cranking out these flix & action films because they make more internationally then just here Hence the huge flop here of Sly's Rambo & next year-(though could be good) the 5th Indy movie. -

cigarjoe, you also already went to it? But cute is one word I'd never use for this one buddy as you know the media & all go through cycles & right now it's this one, the flavor of the week & believe me despite what they say, they want violence in theaters it's more coverage for them, like 24-7 thesedays on Trump. Don't know after seeing it if that's gonna happen though, do yo? It's not the DK or anything like that Athough thought The Dark Knight was grand overall filmmaking myself, just fed up with sequels, remakes & comic books turned to regular film & the had a field day on THE IRISHMAN last week, they will easily get back to it as Oscar season approaches though -
thanks for posting on my personal #1 all-time favorite picture! I've yet to be able to see it on The Silver-screen though, it seems most I talk to some how have though at the Tampa Theatre (est: 19026-) they often show it & mgr says fans show up in the costumes, etc seeing *GFII November 1st as pt of regal & TCM's Fathom series about 1 month ago went to *Lawrence of Arabia there & always wanted to see at least one *"Duke " Wayne film on the big screen & due to health missed out on True Grit!!! But if I could pick 1 or 2 of his to go to see it's between THE SEARCHERS & THE QUIET MAN I simply loath when college kids get too analytical about movies, as is likely the link you provided Most learned life from the net & nothing else, like tings didn't exist prior to the invention of computers & have a massive attitude about it & most tings, look at he pc crowd I love the net, but it's nit everything
