o Sone may have already posted this fun little survey from you TCM-ITES or not, just in case what are you folks favorite Mother's Day pictures??? My A #1 is "I Remember Mama" (l948-Fox or was it RKO?) 2. "White Heat" (l949-Warner Bros.) 3. "National Velvet" (l945-MGM)-(NOTE: *Anne Revere is my personal all-time fav. movie mom & as most know she took home a s. actress *Oscar for this wonderful family film Also. Maltin always rated it Mickey Rooney's finest role, even over "The Human Comedy") 4. "Mommie Dearest" (l98l) (I know hats your thinkin' right but *Faye Dunaway was truly robbed of another shot at an *Academy Award for her over the top campy fun work) 5th "Throw Mama from the Train" (l987) (By no means an excellent flix, but fun, especially the ultra bizarre & nommed for this late Anne Ramsey) "Mildred Pierce" (l945-WB's) is a good drama/mystery, but *Crawford's next from '46 "Humoresque" is her finest per.) I KNOW I MISSED A FEW, SO SEND YOUR THOUGHTS & VIEWS PLEASE I THANK YOU

What, as a bona-fide fan of Madonna's I actually don't recall this, or maybe I do? She throws in so many images it's often hard to tell

I bet yeah most of SNL's wins were for it's great era from 1975 to 1980?
-
Outrageously "The Great 0ne: Jackie Gleason"-(l9l6-l987) never won 1 single EMMY???

Despite all his flix & 7 *Oscar nods & winning 1 to date, Jeff Bridges will likely always be remembered as "THE DUDE!" & upon it's release it only made $17 million. Much of it was filmed at Venice Beach, Calif -

WOW! But it's looked that way for awhile now, sadly -
I know that *Cloris Leachman is the champ of the EMMYS winning 8 to date & both Edward Asner & Mary Tyler Moore each won 7. But, to Jakeem, which tv series is the most honored???

Knew about Darin, but not B. McQueen, of whom actually burned to death in a house fire! -

Chaney, Jr., could be superb too, especially in 1939's classic "Of Mice and Men" (UA), "High Noon" & "The Defiant 0nes" Unfortunately like tons of celebs during that era, he was also an alcoholic -

But probably the most DISGUSTING photos on the net of a star in death is (TIED) of both Sharon Tate & Marilyn after her autopsy!!! -

& yet his legendary father chose the mammoth "Forest Lawn" in GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA-(not to be mixed-up with the one located in the Hollywood Hills/Burbank) Matter of fact yrs ago TCM had a docu. on Chaney, Sr. & visited his niche in it's "Great Mausoleum" & made the pt of him being mysterious even in death, due to it being unmarked -

Some other sites & books though insist these were not the same stairs? I always thought they were myself though, but in "An Ache in Every Stake" they seemed longer? -

Of the 90 of the approx 190 shorts the "Stooges" made for *Harry Cohn & Columbia-(from 1934 until 1959) I have that one on VHS as well. & "The Music Box" is perfecto, even winning the *Academy Award for Best Comedy Short, ironically the same category "The Three Stooges" were up for but lost for 1934's "Men in Black" -

I agree about Mitchum all accounts as well! Look at how great he was in both Night of the Hunter" & "Cape Fear" (l962 version) Plus, he one & only shot at an *Academy Award for 1945's very strong "Story of G.I. Joe" which was *"Wild Bill" Wellman's own personal favorite of his flix. Ever see the mediocre (**) 1998 remake of "Mighty Joe Young?" -
These aren't always accurate though, but strangely all cite ELVIS' as only an IQ of about 70 when in High School? James Woods' an astounding 186! Madonna had an IQ of 140 & Marilyn Monroe was about a 153 I always cross reference stuff & these are listed several places
-
Always thought 1950's "Born Yesterday" was terrific (***1/2) but not great overall. Who also saw the mediocre (**) 1993 rehash starring Melanie Griffith, Don Johnson & John Goodman? It only made it to $23 million at the $B.O.$ (TRIVIA: On TV's superb "The Sopranos" his nephew had Tony S. compared to *Crawford's bullying role in the 1950 original & he was furious)
-
Still the best villain it that franchise!

Do Blondie's original title sequences still exist?
spence replied to yanceycravat's topic in General Discussions
These were on a lot more in the late 1970's & early '80's in NY area, long before TCM existed & strangely Lake is interred in same maus. as Marion Davies in the "Hollywood Forever, cem" Think he was a relative
