  1. But we have a split on Best Director due to yours matching the DGA & they never match up-(the nominees) I've not seen "Disaster Artist" but he looks obnoxious in it (Franco) Did get to see about half of our predicted BP contenders though

  3. For some reason Day-Lewis said that was his final film
  4. LawrenceA, thanx for fast reply Love to see your predix as well?
  5. Shape will probably lead with most nominations but in this era that hasn't mattered that much, due to the other ballot nowadays
  6. Sequels, remakes & superheroes again?
  7. his marks my 36th year at *Academy Award oddsmaking & often like predicting the nominations vs. the actual winners please also forecast (*-denotes frontrunner) (top 6 major categories only predicted for now) Official nominations to be announced next Tuesday The 90th Annual Academy awards-(AMPAS) Best Picture-(likely 8 to 10 again)? Call Me By Your Name Darkest Hour Dunkirk Get 0ut I, Tonya LadyBird The Post *The Shape of Water-(likely to lead the field w/most nods) *Three Billboards 0utside Ebbing Missouri-(my personal fav. of 2017) & If there are ten? Blvd from "The Pantages"which held them there from 1949 through 1959 "Pantages" was also the place where the very fist awards were presented "Live" on tv in 1953 honoring the 1952 film world. Most regular movie fans had never seen their heroes & heroines on the tv, *Bogey, Marilyn, *Coop & *"The King" until now When I vacationed there the 1st time in '99 it was still called "The Kodak Theatre" "Hollywood & Highland" & even more trivia, TV's ET when it was under contruction had it's own time capsule buried, containing memorabelias from it's 1st 18yrs on air & 3 videos "It's a Wonderful Life" "Singin' In The Rain" & "The Wizard of 0z" & it's rules said it's time capsule would & should never be unearthed for another century) So, though extremely early before March 4th, Best Picture: "Three Billboards..." Actor: Gary 0ldman Actress : Frances McDormand S. Actor:-(closest race of all, between Dafoe & Rockwell?) S. Actress: Laurie Metcalf & BD: Del Toro THANK YOU
  8. 2 *Academy Awards I bet "Dunkirk" wins is both Sound races
  9. She's the favorite of the *Coen Bros. look fast also for her in 1990's "Miller's Crossing"
  10. I thought it was the best film this year "Three Billboards.,.."
  11. as most already have indicated Gary 0ldman delivers a tremendous performance as Winston Churchill in "Darkest Hour" & it's about 99% certain he will win the Best Actor *Oscar in awhile Overall I personally think it a very fine bio as well, make-up-(which is likely to also win), art-direction, music, etc & a must for history buffs Amazingly it will only be his 2nd attempt at an *Academy Award too For me overall the movie (***1/2-out of four) & of course for him 4 BIG STARS! Who else has seen it?
  12. No matter what still a superb motion picture!
  13. For fans of Kirk Douglas check out his history though, especially 1949 & 1954. I always liked his performances too
  14. LadyBird though sure under-performed, I thought it would take home about (3)
  15. Delightful surprise with "Three Billboards,,," wining the biggie!
  16. Generally I've learned to never predict the unpredictable Golden Globes, but I think "LadyBird" will take home the most tomorrow
  17. Easily must rank among TV's top ten all-timers!!! & of course many have attempted to duplicate it ever since
  18. I think he was even interred in Ireland, but many insist co-star & fellow *AMPAS winner *Victor McLaglen was English
  19. & I posted an item awhile ago on "Forbes" annual highest pd $stars$ and Mark Whalberg lead on the male side-(Vin Diesel was #4) & as for the ladies #1 was *Oscar winner *Emma Stone
