-
THANX AGAIN! I know it's likely for him to be at the top again, or close, but do you also find it ridiculous that we went from the likes of *Gable, Cary Grant, Garbo, etc to this???
-
My ma' just called from the other room & told me he was on. Sadly, you hardly ever hear of William Claude Dunbkfeild anymore?
-
This was a big deal in the '80's w/*Woody Allen & others in hearings

Combined the 2 at first with "Cape Fear" (l962)

Almost all I've corresponded with over the last 17yrs agrees 100% TCM & I guess "BACKLOT" desperately needs to join all other film areas & conduct it's own & long overdue fans poll on their all-time favs in THE MOVIES PLEASE CONSIDER
-
& some on here may already be aware of this rather gruesome, morbid & perverted item. I forget the guys' name, but he was interred in the niche just above Marilyn & deliberately too. Plus,. he demanded in his will he be buried face down-(you get the idea) even his widow is still furious about this true fact & apparently legal action has been taken to remove him, but still nada has been done WHO RECALLS HIS NAME?

Do you think somekind of fans-(US) petition drive would help out at all? -
Originally they desperatelywanted & even somewhat planned for the legendary Judy Garland to be in the role *Susan Hayward took instead
-
& a rare appearance in it by Tony Bennett-(l926-)
-
If you think this Mae West-(l893-l980) movie was lousy, you all must check out 19709's stunningly awful-(& not even fun, just annoyingly awful!) I easily rate it among the top 3 worst flix ever produced (TRIVIA: On all 3 vacations to Tinsel-Town & I';vbe touched on thgis many times, I was lucky enough to stay at exact same motel located at 777 N. Vine. you could even see the Paramount water Tower from there. Anyhow, I just felt that a massive bldgh/apartments seemed fam, iliar to me, so I looked it up & it was/is "THE RAVENSWOOD APTS" at the end of Vine. West lived there 48yrs & passed away inside as well. It's ultra red lights are so bright you can easily see them all the way up at the "Griffith 0bservatory" She oviously didn't have far to go top work at Paramount, huh Though she chose NYC to be laid to rest
-
Of course you can't leave out the works of Edward D. Wood Jr.-(l923-1978) & anybody reading this must see 1994's marvelous "Ed Wood" (****-stars!) & only grossed $6m. *Martin Landau delivered one of thee greatest performances in recent years as Bela Lugosi
-
I split a wee-bit with you on 1966's "The Oscar" though & think it's a fair picture (**1/2) but by no means a great one Plus, any moivie that features *"THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD: FRANCIS (ALBERT) SINATRA AT IT'S FINALE CAN'T BE ALL BAD
-
YEP, inthe immortal words of both *Gary Cooper & *Clint Eastwood. It is a sloppy film & the also already gone Roger Ebert-l942-2014) cool guy, but always actually bragged about writing the screenp0lay for "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls?"

I loath The Kardashian's & this is typical of the HCOC-(Hollywood Chamber of Commerce) I think they even have a "Walk-of-Fame Star?" & that reminds me of something very sad, *Joanne Woodward-(l930-) was chosen as the very first celeb to be given her "WOF-Star:" in 1958. Probably due to her just winning her *Academy Awardfor "Three Faces of Eve" All insist she has really bad ALZHEIMERS -

THANX FOR ULTRA FAST REPLY! But why would an online poll cost $dough$? they should also let the folks vote via regular mail & you also hit the nail on the head in it being TCM Backlot-(WE SHOULD START A PETITION DRIVE!!!) I mean in my massive & ever increasing files of all things cinematic, this is the only hold out??? Even AMC had a fans survey
