And I assume you didn't harass him like Dargo did (ha ha ).
Oh, know,,,, now Dargo will have to come back and tell the actual story, for the 50th time! (but really it was Kirk that was the pushy one when Dargo was a flight attendant).
what happened?

Of course (which is why I mention that the Museum had a "stuff" about Gunga Din). Like I said the Alabama Hills (just outside of Lone Pine), is where hundreds of films were made.
thanx

tiny.

yeah, unfortunately for him & most think of CAGNEY as being shorter but was once 5'7, he shrunk easily about 3 inches many yrs later though
You always saw BOGART seemingly much taller then JIM, BOGART was another that wore lifts though
-
I have a book by him titled 52 Movie of the Week
& have a list of Bogandovich's all-time fav. films>
THE SEARCHERS
THE QUIET MAN
LA GRANDE ILLUSION
MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS
RED RIVER
RIO BRAVO
ONLY ANGELS HAVE WINGS
STAGECOACH (l939)
NORTH BY NORTHWEST
SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON
& TOUCH OF EVILhis fav actors>
JOHN WAYNE, CARY GRANT & JIMMY STEWART-(he never cited an actress yet though, maybe JEAN ARTHUR)
Directors/filmmakers>
HAWKS, HITCHCOCK, FORD & WELLES
Surprisingly no KANE or VERTIGO though?

Anybody see him on THE SOPRANOS as LORRAINE BRACCO'S shrink, it was a re-acurring role, but supporting
-
saw is niche in WESTWOOD, cem I think pretty close to NATALIE WOOD, though he chose to be interred in the wall instead
-
But 26hrs is my record with the above mentioned female!
-
& can watch THE HONEYMOONERS-CLASSIC 39 (l955-56) for hours
-
I know their lowbrow but I love 'em
-
Almost 4-got & again can binge watch THE THREE STOOGES-(only the shorts though & by no means with the obnoxious JOE BESSER, who was also before that on tv's short-lived ABBOTT & COSTELLO SHOW (l952-54) Sadly, he was the sole STOOGE present when they finally got a WOF-STAR I believe in l984, CURLY JOE DE RITA from the features was alive, but blind & more by then

Although Falk earned 2 Academy nominations for Murder, Inc (l960) & Pocketful of Miracles (l96l) I still like him doing a STAN & OLLIE with JACK LEMMON in THE GREAT RACE & think he stole '64's ROBIN AND THE 7 HOODS, then there is THE IN-LAWS (l979)

I thought the thread was asking for our personal marathon choices. Movies we would watch at home during self-isolation, whether or not they might air on TCM. I mentioned the Columbo episodes since they are on DVD and I find them pleasant time passers. Some are silly, some are quite good.
COLD SASSY TREE aired as part of Faye Dunaway's Summer Under the Stars tribute a few years ago. It was a made-for-cable movie (made for TCM's sister network TNT).
when I was about 5 or 6 my babysitter used to watch COLUMBO & I remember asking him does he fight, he said he fights with his mind

On her being short it reminds me of ALAN LADD & he'd always get that reaction upon people meeting him 7 obviously-(due to what happened to him in '64 at only age 50) he knew it! SHIRLEY MacLaine loved him above all & when she first met him was taken back as well & she was then just 5'6 His mother also killed herself & in his arms And before he was in the movies his nickname was tiny

What about him? I.e. did you ever meet him? I have seen a few others, e.g. at a restaurant, but I didn't talk to them or get very close to them.
E.g. Saw Christian Aguilera at the Ivy in Beverly Hills (very famous restaurant that has been featured in some films); Funny but that was also with my wife's boss (because I wouldn't pay $25 for a small salad!). What surprised me was how small \ short she was.
I didn't mention these since their wasn't anything interesting in these brief encounters from afar.
Heard of the IVY for many yrs Among my regrets upon going to HOLLYWOOD those three vacations, is a pal o'mine insisted I visit whats the oldest working restaurant MUSSO & FRANKS vs. THE FORMOSA-(across from Goldwyn's old studio & used in several movies) THE FORMOSA many have seen in movies like L.A. CONFIDENTIAL & many more & is famous for having tons of stars' pictures hanging everywhere
a famous story I've seen/heard people talk about a few times about THE FORMOSA JOHN WAYNE was there & again hitting the bottle BIG-TIME & the people with him wanted to go home, it was closing time anyway, but he passed out in his booth & given the fact he was so big-(this was in the later yrs or so) they just decided to leave him sleep it off, when all returned in the morning he was in the kitchen making breakfast & happy as a lark

Even brief one's what other celebs have you encountered to date? as I wrote closest encounter for me=(used to be a Letterman skit) was Ron Howard, Guttenberg, Tahnee Welch, Jessica Tandy, Maureen Stapleton-(nice woman) & even Clint Howard) But my ma was a NYC Rockett (around 1962/63) & even worked with GEORGE BURNS, CAROL CHANNING, ARTHUR GODFREY, JOEY BISHO-(Rat Pack!) & RICKY NELSON However, her biggest encounter was also in NYC but not as a ROCKETT, just in a long day at a working out ballet class nxt to SHIRLEY MacLaine & then got to escort ROBERT DUVALL down to his limo at the now gone PLAYBOY HOTEL & CASINO in Atlantic City in l980, she was then a security guard She almost got to work with BOB HOPE but blew it

Aguilera is another offspring of MADONNA, who first hit it big in l982 There are sooo many still around Lady Ga Ga-(but extremenly talented & now an Oscar winner due to her song winning from A STAR IS BORN) B. Spears, Miley Cyrus, Katy Peary and about 3 more
it was a gag about DON KNOTTS

what about DON KNOTTS?

Yea, I heard that story. I have a friend that lives in Lone Pine and he used to work for the Lone Pine Film History Museum. They have Bogie's car from High Sierra, stuff from Gunda Din etc... Cool place. We go hiking in those Alabama Hills were so many films have been shot. I hiked on the same rocks where Reno Smith guns down Liz Wirth before McCreedy lights him up.
COOL! As you probably know GUNGA DIN was also shot there

Some charity event in Manhattan Beach (So Cal), and he was the governator at the time.
know exactly where it is, I have a massive map of LA & surrounding area-(AMAZINGLY DETAILED DOWN TO EACH LITTLE STREET TOO) & it's just above my desk here
-
& at times THE GREAT SPENCER TRACY could be, especially in BLACK ROCK, even LEE MARVIN'S character Hector said so & his early gangster roles-(about 4 or 5)
-
Anybody think GARBO was COOL at all?
-
& though MARLON detested him, he virtually stalked BRANDO soon as he got to HOLLYWOOD but J.D. must be among them
Back then everybody was trying to copy him & of course DEAN was atop the list Matter of fact BURT REYNOLDS around l959/l960 almost got into a physical altercation with MARLON, not in the restaurant, but he thought BRANDO was rude to him upon their first meeting at the place so drove up to his place on Mulholland, DR & waited there for hours & to quote BURT he was gonna punch him so hard he'd kill his entire family unquote But BRANDO never came home that night
