There were several silent films superior to WINGS (**1/2) that may have qualified that year, especially THE CROWD, or THE GENERAL But L.B. Mayer detested THE CROWD, even being from MGM BROADWAY MELODY must be the worst yet???

Wolper Now, it's all BATMAN some very elderly security guard that even knew Edward G. Robinson argued early WB's-(Now where KTLA News is, then moved to Burbank, where most of the studios are) argued they used scribbes in the early gangster flix, but told him Cagney wrote & in a docu they used real bullets, matter of fact he almost got shot during the gunfight as Rocky Sullivan, but had enough
