  1. Speaking of the all-time great 9hr SHAH (l985) I'll never forget how furious Ebert & Siskel were when it failed to even get a documentary nod

That film shoulda been showed in schools!

then to top things off-(that category was always weird) they gave the thumbs down to Roger Ebert's own & posthumously released LIFE ITSELF & snubbed it for a docu nomination as well?

JAKEEM, have you seen PARASITE or plan to?   I'm not against foreign films, l989's marvelous Italian CINEMA, PARADISO is not only my fav foreign-film ever made, but gets my vote as the best of that year with yet another marvelous Morricone score-(unnominated yet again for it)

La strada, Ran, Shoah, das Boot are heavyweights, but again this was the AMPAS way of making u[p for the fact of the all white performers-(except 2) being nominated this year & the shot themselves in the foot BIG  TIME!  Even liberals are ****   They bent over backwards sooo much to show diversity they sffered the lowest ratings since they have ever been on television starting back in 1953 from THE PANTAGES THEATRE also on Hollywood, Blvd   Sasha stone of awards daily.com a flaming liberal now suggests they only be aired online.

Middle America obviously was turned off & turned off the telecast

  3. There is a hilarious yet true by all accounts HOLLYWOOD true story involving the 2 legendary actors

It's a bit long, W.C. Fields and Gene Fowler were involved   CHECK OUT THE Blake Edwards l98l film S.O.B. to see what I';m talking about, they lifted it from J. Barrymore's l942 demise

Except for THE ENDING VIKING FUNERAL

  4. still have an absolutely incredible large shot of WINIONA RYDER in a bathtub in some magazine called FACE from the '90's  I wanted it so much back then I could ride a bicycle & had one-(my horse) & raced home from the bookstore 7 got my dough & raced back & paid about $7.00 bucks for it, still in my collection to do easy nowadays to find it on the net

Great intro for a movie. It introduces you to the man the movie is about, so you know what you're in for. It's quick and to the point. Scott thought it was a bad idea to put his monologue in the beginning, but I disagree. What an actor!

He told JOHNNY CARSON his own faviorite picture though was Dr. STANGELOVE

Yes. But I don't believe that's true for real-life characters.  It's been a mixed bag for people who've portrayed British royals. And no one had ever won an Oscar for playing a U.S. president until Sir Daniel Day-Lewis portrayed Abraham Lincoln.

they first wanted Mitchum for the role & he didn't want to speak of it afterward because he felt he made an error & then Rod Steiger

(P.S. I know Madonna is a love or hate personality, but she studied this to be pt of his '93 GIRLIE SHOW epic concert)

& Nixon loved this one, matter of fact all still say he was so obsessed with this bio  he immediately ordered the mammoth bombing of cambodia just after one of his many viewings
