yes, these are my picks ...  the films i liked and not what i necessarily thought would win ...

GOTCHA!   Like Tour Alternate Oscars    Too bad TopBilled & others didn't join-in

If I were voting Joker would win BP, barely over l9l7, ironically the film I most wanted to see about a year since I heard they were making it THE IRISHMAN I didn't see & think it will be shut out due to the bonehead Netflix releasing concept

    I love The Naked Gun.

    "I practice safe sex."

    "So do I."  (She walks in wearing a giant c o n d o m) *.  LOL.

    * Apparently Otto practices VERY safe sex.  You cannot even type c o n d o m.

I also love Coming to America.

    "Let your souuuuuuuul glowwwww."

My personal top 5 for 1988:

    1) The Naked Gun (I was going to put Coming to America here, because I'd forgotten about Naked Gun)

    2) Coming to America

    3) Beetlejuice

    4) The Great Outdoors (the one flaw being that they saved the girls from the cave). More bear, less kids would have improved that film.

    5) Cocktail (except for the bummer suicide part)

    What about Roger Rabbit?

I am on my phone, so I can’t make out a lot of these images.
    BUT...
there needed to be a feminist revisionist sequel to BIG (1988) where ELIZABETH PERKINS’s character is sent to a mental institution for telling her therapist that she is racked with guilt over a statutory rape she committed on a 12-year-old boy because he was, at the time, in the body of a 30-year-old man.
SERIOUSLY, I was 10 years old when I saw BIG and that aspect of the movie bothered me A LOT even then.

    good idea

Some things to consider before watching the 92nd annual Academy Awards ceremony, which will air  Sunday, February 9, 2020 on ABC:

The veteran singer-songwriter and composer Randy Newman has scored and written songs for all four installments of the popular Pixar/Disney "Toy Story" franchise. And he's been nominated for Academy Awards for all of them.

    See the source image

His latest Oscar nod for the series is for the Best Original Song nominee "I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away." The tune revolves around attempts by the sad sack spork named Forky, who suffers from low esteem.

Newman, a two-time Oscar winner, also is nominated this year in the Original Score category  for his musical contributions to the drama "Marriage Story." Among his competitors is his cousin Thomas Newman, who scored the Best Picture contender "1917."

Here is a list of Newman's overall Academy Award nominations (Oscar wins in bold) :

    • "Ragtime" (1981). Best Original Score.
    • "Ragtime" (1981). Best Original Song (for "One More Hour").
    • "The Natural" (1984). Best Original Score.
    • "Parenthood" (1989). Best Original Song (for "I Love to See You Smile").
    • "Avalon" (1990). Best Original Score.
    • "The Paper" (1994). Best Original Song (for "Make Up Your Mind").
    • "Toy Story" (1995). Best Original Musical or Comedy Score.
    • "Toy Story" (1995). Best OriginaL Song (for "You've Got a Friend in Me").
    • "James and the Giant Peach" (1996). Best Original Musical or Comedy Score.
    • "Pleasantville" (1998).  Best Original Dramatic Score
    • "A Bug's Life" (1998). Best Original Musical or Comedy Score.
    • "Babe: Pig in the City" (1998). Best Original Song (for That'll Do").
    • "Toy Story 2" (1999). Best Original Song (for "When She Loved Me").
    • "Meet the Parents" (2000). Best Original Song (for "A Fool in Love").
    • "Monsters, Inc." (2001). Best Original Score.
    • "Monsters, Inc."  (2001). Best Original Song (for "If I Didn't Have You").
    • "Cars" (2006). Best Original Song (for "Our Town").
    • "The Princess and the Frog" (2009). Best Original Song (for "Almost There").
    • "The Princess and the Frog" (2009). Best Original Song (for "Down in New Orleans").
    • "Toy Story 3" (2010). Best Original Song (for "We Belong Together").
    • "Marriage Story" (2019). Best Original Score.
    • "Toy Story 4" (2019). Best Original Song (for "I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away").

his score for ragtime especially was marvelous & of course the heavyweight music for The Natural  hard to believe it's the same4 guy who sang short people

  7. I couldn't see the main one I wanted to for over a yr when I heard they were making it THE IRISHMAN

will always strongly feel it not only hurt it's Oscar chances but $Box-0ffice$ going to Netflix first

Hollywood has literally been drooling for yrs to give both Scorsese & Pacino a 2nd statue too

did you see it yet, people agree with me Pesci looks ill
