  3. Back in the 1950's when Sammy Davis, Jr had the god awful automoblie accident, his eye wasn't damaged, it was on the floor & the only guy to help him was Francis Albert Sinatra-)for some reason no Dino?_) He took Sammy  to over 3 hospitals & back then he was of course refused due to being black, finally Frank found a place

How many hrs was in the middleo

  4. Top, saw most f them over the years buddy They Came to Cordura (***) is underrated as a Westrern  With Coop being his legendary heroic  self until the end-(LIKE W.C,. FIELDS NOBODY MENTIONS HIM MUCH THESEDAYS?)E

Saw Dosworth bajk in the in '80's- & perfection, except for Chatterstons' over the top work

As for Urban Cowboy a fun one (***) (Debra Wingers got best notices, but she's not on the outs due to her behavior with other people filming By the way she's the voice of E.T.)

AND IT WOULD TAKE AN HR TO WRITE ABOUT THE BAKER BIYS... Went to that ion 0ct of 1989 & when I came home to San Francisco Earthquaakes WERE HAP[PENNIG. Though it stuck a mammoth niche in the mind ever since, of course especially MCHELLE  She'll never to that piano crawl-(filmed at THE ROOSEVELT HOTEL'S CINEGRILL)    SUSIE DIAMOND & only raked in $18m.  But Jessica Tandy in Miss Daisy walked down the aisle come Oscar dnight, Michelle had won virtually evert pre Oscar film awards up to it   I barely almost gave BB 4 stars!)

    • Thanks 1
  5. I know the answer to this but of course wanted tour opinons on the subject   ESCUSE ME For A WEE BIT SLOPPY, KEYWOBARD IS NOT UP TO THE Mark thesedays

STARTING OFF WITH Sammy DAVIS, jR (L925-90) EVEN Sinatra CALLED HIM "SMOKEY" AT 6PKS PERDAY

ROD SERLING used to smoke throughtout dinner with Larry King 5-6 pks

JACKIE THE GREAT ONE GLEASON-(l9l6-87)  also 6pks of ciggies a day, but when he went under quadruple bypass  after Smokey & the Bandit he cut back to just 5

SINATRA kinda limited himself to 2 packs, matter if fact he was buried with a of of Lucky Strikes)

DINO-(l9l7-95) I am not certain of, but a lot

BETTE DAVIS also not certain, but it aged her fast

    & NOW TODAY

MADONNA sneaks hers about 1/2 to 1 pack per day & lectures all about smoking  Matter of fact in a rainy concert she demanded all put out their cigs on she wouldn't go on, saying "If You Love Me Don't Smoke" I know her mannersims very well after over 6yrs & she smokes & also started DRINKING AROUND 01 mostly Guinness irish beer  MY OWN FAV LONG BEFORE SHE EVEN TASTED IT

imagine the house where Penn easily smoked 3 to pks a day!?

  6. First of all Marty has not won 1 single BD prize leading up to these upcoming Oscars  I admit I thought he'd clean house, but noooo

It's not just to Globes that have swayed me, but a lot more this  awards season

It's staggering to consider the filmmaker behind   Everything under  the sum may be left out in the cold, Yet all of us Oscar oddsmakers are looking at it, it's gonna be darn difficult for him to defeat    1917 * even Parasite for his 2nd Best Director Golden Boy    & this would cite huis 9th BD shot t date, more then Spielberg even

I have a personal theory, it's on Netflix first, liike M. story & The Two=Popes, I think it hurts it's Oscar chances for victory or even victories

    What do you think?

By the way the DGA nominees were announced & it's winner scheduled to be announced   Jan. 25th

hey pal, excellent going once again, though JoJo Rabbit may not be a big AMOPAS contender, just my gut feeling & over 36-37yrs whenever I altered I messed up If anything it's script & maybe Scarlett Johannson in support may be in the Golden Race. Remember, it's a comedy

She may just be nommed twice this year?  The Hitler thing may be a bit put off to mainstream voters too?

(TRIVIA: Forbes last summer cited her as highest pd$$$ actress's of the year by the way)

Yes, there were many good actresses who could have played her part, but Astor had the gift of being memorable while also being complimentary as part of an ensemble. Only in THE GREAT LIE did she upstage the rest of the cast.

not to pick on her, but this goes back almost to 1936, when a co-leading role tends to be in the supporting race(i.e. Brad Pitt this year likely) it almost always has a better shot at taking home the lesser Oscar  (Meryl Streep, Kramer... Walter Matthau, Fortune Cookie, Tim Hutton, 0rdinary People, Tilda Swinton, Michael Clayton, Mahershela Ali in Green Book & so on)

  10. <Made an error golodderby.com had me at 8 for 14 correct

Little by little The Irishman's sweeping chances appear to be dwindling come Oscar night

Matter of fact Marty hasn't won 1 single BD award to my knowledge to date

Part of my own theory is being on Netflix vs the big screen first may have hurt

I had a gut feeling over 2 months ago when 1st seeing the footage for 1917 it was something special

  11. Posted the G. Globe awards & surprises earlier last night & 1917 upset Scorsese's massive epic The Irishman for Motion Picture-Drama

There are only hundreds of voters in the Globes vs over 9,00 td in the Academy, but who thinks this will follow through?

One debit Marty hasn't won 1 BD prize leading up to this or the DGA

  12. I never in 38yrs made a science of predicting the Golden Globes though did all right 15 out of 14 film categories The biggest stunner though is Scorsese's mammoth epic The Irishman was shut out!

I mean no other fmr pundits forecasted this & 1917 director Sam Mendes defeated Marty for Best Director either

JAKEEM, don't mean to steal your thunder, just had to get this out immediately buddy

& most fmr oddsmakers all projected Jennifer Lopez to win, but Hollywood Royalty Laura Dern upset her

Even score was an upset going to Joker over 1917?

& Tarentino won over Marriage story for writing.thing is with Oscar oddsmaking Quentin already has 2 for script

JUST REMENBER THOUGH WITHIN THE LAST20yrs OR MORE THE GOLDEN GLOBES HAVE BEEN LESS OF AN OSCAR BEROMETER THEN SAG

The 7th for us Oscar pundits is important, there are about 3 major races nommed

When I started in the early '80's us Oscar predictors didn't have all the pre-Oscar benefits, let alone the net

    THANK YOU

P.S. please give a prayer again to Aussie &it's fires, my girlfriend lives there
