  4. It was a great movie! James Garner had most of my attention, but Steve McQueen and the other actors were great too!!! I'm wondering if they filmed in Austria/Germany/Switzerland, beautiful scenery. Valid point about the 50. Still disheartening, like Schindler's List.
  5. I just watched Lydia (1941) for the first time, and also enjoyed it!
  6. I just watched The Great Escape (1963) for the first time last night and enjoyed it very much. It was sad, and made me angry, but a great movie.

    1954's Brigadoon Cyd Charisse, Gene Kelly, Van Johnson most of the men, except for Gene Kelly and Van Johnson wear kilts at one point or another in the film.

  10. I believe I was chatting with GregoryPeckFan and we were talking about Richard Burton. It had occurred to me that while I knew who he was, and thought he and Elizabeth Taylor made a good looking couple (tumultuous as well) that I had never seen one of his movies before. Well, TCM recently showed My Cousin Rachel (1952) with Olivia De Havilland and I enjoyed the movie very much!
