  1. Bio-book of Golden Era Actress reviewed I just reviewed a book that made me question why we make celeberties out of good looking people with marginal tallent in this day and age? you might want to check it out. http://thefedorachronicles.com/flicks/joi.html This is the review of a book written by Joseph Dougherty, ?Comfort And Joi,? which is 1 part biography, one part commentary on the modern media, and 1 part lovee-letter to a time gone by. I?m also looking for comments from other film fans who might have read this book. This guy has inspired me to write my own memoir of the movies and actor?s that I?ve enjoyed in the past, and I?m looking for suggestion.
  2. The Maltese Falcon comes to Baltimore From The Baltimore Sun Originally published January 20, 2005 "Classic film: Slayton House Theatre in Wilde Lake Village Center, Columbia, will start its 2005 series of Marvelous Movies and More with the 1941 film, The Maltese Falcon, at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow. The classic film, directed by John Huston, stars Humphrey Bogart as detective Sam Spade. Dessert and coffee will be served after a discussion. The cost is $7; $6 for senior citizens and students. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. 410-730-3987." I'm here in New Hampshire... I can't go and I have nothing to do with this event. But If you're in the area and have never seen this film... this is the way to get it done. Renderking Fisk The Fedora Chronicles http://thefedorachronicles.com/
  3. Is it all about the movies, or do you care about old buildings, too? How important is Historical Preservation? I?ve been asked about doing something to help our country and the world preserve our Heritage, too many of historical building are being ruined and destroyed needlessly because of our obsession with new buildings. Clothes have fashion trends, and unfortunately so do homes. Vintage homes built during the Victorian era are being lost at a horrific rate. Diners of the Golden Era are making a slight comeback, but is that enough? My question is: How important is Historical Preservation to you people? Is it important to keep Land Barons from ruining our historical buildings and landmarks and work to restore what we still have? Is it important to track these attempts to save our heritage? And do you know of any organizations that need help being promoted? Do you know of any historical societies or organizations near you? And do you work with them at all? Thanks for your time? 5. Is there a way to change the setting so that when you're reading a thread you see the first post on top and the next one after that... so that the thread goes from Top to bottom insteed of bottom to top? Thanks... Ren
  6. Turner Classic Movies isn't going "AMC" on us, are they? If they actually had "Turner Vintage Movies"... That would be pretty darn cool, too.
