You know, I read the movie summary for The Girl from Missouri on eBay in a listing and it is a likely cadidate, I watched so many Jean Harlow movies that day when they all came on TCM that I am getting them all confused. So I ordered it and when it gets here I will check it out. Thanks for the info! I appreciate it a bunch! I'll reply again when I figure out what movie it is, if someone else doesn't figure it out first.

Yes, that one is The Palm Beach Story, it is me greenridg2 but on my own computer not my Mom's. Great, thanks! I ordered it from Barnes & Noble.com, but what about the Jean Harlow movie? I wish I knew more of the plot. The scene is she is all excited talking to the landlady because she finally thinks she met a rich man, but when she looks out her room window in this boarding house, she sees the guy she thought was rich in a junk car picking her up. Seems the nice car he was riding in the day before was not his- he was fixing/testing/whatever he was in it and it wasn't his. I don't think she was the star of the movie- maybe just had a part in it. Any Jean Harlow buffs recognize it?

Please help! Two movies that I want to find on video or see if they are coming up soon, but I have totally forgotten the titles or whole movie plots. Number one is a movie with I believe Claudette Colbert and Rudy Vallee,B&W, and I remember it was that she was on a yaght or ship with him, and pretended or really needed help and she was in a shop and he was buying her clothes, and she bought an outfit with bracelet cut sleeves, and he bought her a gorgious bracelet just to go with the outfit. I seem to remember an underdog man who loved her maybe. Anyone know? Also the name of a Jean Harlow movie that was just aired on TCM this or last month, it had her in a boarding house room with like the landlady, and she looked out the window when her date honked and realized a guy she thought was rich who was picking her up was really not because he was in someone elses car when she first took a ride/saw him. Yes, I read on here the mother of the murdered little boy, Hortence was the characters name I think, from The Bad Seed. What a wonderful performance! It gives me goose bumps just thinking of the way she grabbed the mother of the bad seed and hugged her and said " Christina! I know you know sumpin! Why wont you tell me!" and offered to do her hair. Ouch, what a killer performance. I believe that actress died pretty recently if I am not mistaken. I feel bad not knowing her name.

A little more detail might be in order to figure this one out. Do you remember any particular scene or setting, any thing about the plot( a murder, pregnancy, problem, accident, anything)?Cary Grant was in many films where the girl had a rich father and he married her. Was it a suspense film, comedy, drama...I love Cary Grant films and maybe if you could remember just a little more this can be figured out.

Hilarious! What is it called?

This one is 1930's,no big stars I can remember. It has a little old lady and she is poor and sells apples. She has a daughter who she hasnt seen since she was a baby, who thinks she is rich. She hears the daughter is coming to visit, and gets help from a lot of friends, gangster types maybe? who give her a makeover, lend her a fancy apartment and friends, and the daughter comes and everything is OK. Ring any bells?

There is this old black and white movie. Charles Boyer is the head waiter at a fancy restaurant and he always leaves a special table open waiting for this one special woman to show up. That is the only part I remember but I desperately want to know the name so I can try to find it on video. Antone know?
