  1. Mockumentary is used for lack of a better name. I wouldn't agree either that just because something fictional is portrayed as factual, it necessarily mocks something else.
  2. As it states in the project description that can be reached via the link I supplied, the film will in some ways be a mockumentary, without wanting to mock anyone or anything in particular. As the original text by Schreber is sometimes hilarious, sometimes saddening and sometimes uplifting, the film will try to recreate some of the "affective scenarios" found in the original work. But his book is also permeated by a deep sense of irony only sometimes visible that comes with, I guess, writing about one's own schizophrenia, making one's mind an object of science (Schrebers science that is). All of this should in some form or another appear in the re-imagining of Schrebers (or Reckers) life story.
  3. @CaveGirl Your comment is interesting, why do you think it ill advised? And why would it be better to alter the biography of someone whose life is told through Freud rather than someone who tells of his life autobiographically? @LawrenceA Not sure you're in the right thread?
  4. Hey everybody, just wanted to share with you a project by a friend of mine. It's about Daniel Paul Schreber, the writer of one of the most detailed accounts of schizophrenia. In the film, his biography is revisioned: instead of being transferred to the psychiatric facility where he would spend the next eight years of his life, he flees to America. More information about the project here What are your thoughts?
