Well, it was fun while it lasted....

Well stoneyburke, it looks like I will be joining you in the snow. My apartment complex just switched from satellight to Comcast. What I was paying $35 for will now cost $48.50, and that's before all those extra taxes and fees, I just don't think it's worth it. Luckily we have been recording like mad for the last 2 years and I have plenty to watch. -
I'm sure you have 200+ other channels that can help you there.
-
Funny that this point even had to be brought up. It should be the rule not the exception to show studio era films during prime time on this channel.

If anyone is interested in purchasing the Dogville Shorts, I found the DVD at http://www.matsune.com/wbc/worldsbestweb/tvvideo.htm and purchased it myself over the summer when TCM showed them last.

Which Star of the Month would you like to see?

I agree with you on Vivien Leigh, not even a day devoted to her does not make sense. -
February is 31 Days of Oscar, but part of March is included since February does not have 31 days in it. This is the worst one yet.
-
This has to be the worst oscar month TCM has ever come up with. I can't understand the emphasis on the newer movies when there are so many great classics from earlier years to choose from. February looks less like "31 Days of Oscar" and more like "What we found on Walmart's Clearance Rack". I guess I'll be pulling the plug on TCM sooner than I thought.

I'll never forget my mom driving us down to SF in the early 70's to take us to the Playland she used to go to as a child, and when we got there it was being torn down. We looked in horror through the chain link fence.

Jean Arthur/Paramount on Parade
-
Leona Roberts/Gone With the Wind
-
Katharine Hepburn/The Little Women

Since he was in so many good movies and they couldn't show all of them, it would make sense to have him featured again. Besides I didn't record Ride the Pink Horse and I have to have it!
-
Tom Berenger/The Big Chill
-
I was wondering why we weren't getting these as well.
-
Hee hee, Stepford boards.
-
That is how I have been playing.

> I wouldn't even put Tootsie in the top 500 Nor would I. I do agree with Young Frankenstein and Some Like it Hot - but not at number 1.

The only name they called Dick Cavett was "goy", and if that gets your panties in a bunch then you need to lighten up. My reference to the "village calling brad" was a take off on our Seinfeld discussion, plus he was deliberately baiting stoneyburke, trying to turn things negative as usual. I should have stayed out of it but it gets old.
-
Where are vallo and mrsl?
-
I don't think any claws came out against Dick Cavett, just because we have stated we don't care for his show. It's funny how any opinion that is not pro something TCM is doing gets called negativity or worse.
-
That is how I understand it.

?? Was Joseph Cotten in Sorry Wrong Number?

Thank you sandykaypax, it's nice to have some nice people here.
