It's a mystery. I end up rarely watching live TCM, but watching recorded TCM movies because of this. Those of us who work during the day and sleep at night would miss the better movies otherwise. Friday and Saturday primetimes tend to be the worst offerings but once in awhile we get lucky.

You will want to do lots of recording, as TCM shows the best movies of each day in the morning and in the middle of the night.

They're showing Diner tonight? Can't stand Guttenburg, Reiser, Rourke, or Bacon.

Constarkel, in reading the notes on Quo Vadis it says that at the premier and on the road shows an intermission was included. Unfortunately you won't know if TCM will include that or at what time. Hopefully next time they show this it will be at a normal hour.

Stoneyburke I couldn't agree more, and you're right about John C. Reilly and Philip Seymour being real actors.

I've been requesting this as well, and wondering why we don't see much of her.

I agree with you on both guys. I liked Something about Mary but everything Ben did after that was just awful.

You may want to put in a request for those just in case.

I would add Midnight Cowboy to the list.

Seems to me they ran some either last halloween or the one before.

I had forgotten all about All That Jazz, as a youth it was one of my favorites since I was heavily into dance. I don't think the waning interest in musicals could have been saved by that time.

I would have like it more but I hate movies where things come flying at me at high speeds. I did like Hudsucker Proxy though.

It's funny you should mention West Side Story, I was thinking the same thing. It all started when someone started calling us the "Prophets of Doom". After awhile the other camp became the "sheep".

Yes, he is a crack up. I think he is the best part of that movie.

I'm sure you will list them soon enough, since you mentioned that the young kids privately email you to thank you for including their favorites.

I could care less if you think everything TCM does is fine and dandy, it just boils my blood when you and the rest of the bl's pounce on anyone that has an opinion that differs from yours. Take this thread for example, it started out as someone mentioning that a movie was shown in pan and scan, and constarkel sarcastically warned him that if he says anything it will start an arguement.....

Yes we can. If we didn't this place would be boring, and after all mongo likes variety. Filmlover if it upsets you so much when one of us complains about something that TCM does (usually having to do with showing something other than classic movies) you should stay out of that thread and read the birthday thread where you can learn it is Ashton Kutcher's or Mary Kate and Ashley's birthdays.

I have to agree with you on this.

Some of us "purists" do realize this that is why we get so upset when TCM gets away from the classic movies and starts showing cartoons and tv shows. This is the only channel we have left for the old classic movies.

Aren't you the clever one? And there is nothing you could ever say to make me stop thinking of you as one of TCM programmer's baglappers.

Just because I don't applaud every stupid idea TCM comes up with doesn't make me a naysayer. I tune in to TCM to watch the old movies that are not available on any other channel, and when I see TCM slipping I get mad.

It is a TELEVISION SHOW.

You can be sure the sheep will say "bring it on!"
