Oh dear! That is in response to your previous post.

Good post otterhere. My sentiments exactly.

Those look great, will TCM be able to acquire these?
-
Well, I've been requesting this movie for awhile and I hope they show it soon. Probably too busy finding Bill Murray and Steve Martin movies.
-
I had to record it too, and I agree it was a good movie. She probably couldn't take him to the cleaners because there wasn't much to take.

LOL good one Cinemascope!
-
That sounds like a good one, but I'm still waiting for my Classic Style magazine to arrive.
-
That's funny, I may have to read that since I don't care for June Allyson.

Actually I am not a fan of the Duke, it would have been better had it been Brando's or Errol Flynn's butt.

I wish that was it but I haven't used a VCR in years. I found it happened to a different channel almost monthly, but TCM was affected more than once. I have Comcast now due to my apartments switching over but when the "special" runs out I'm going back to satellight with a cheaper package.
-
That's one of many bad movies that should not have a sequel.
-
That used to happen to me when I had Direct TV, but it would last for more than a day each time. The sound would continue but the picture was frozen - one time I had a butt shot of John Wayne bending over on my TCM channel for 3 days.

I don't think there should be a problem with someone like myself in their 30's preferring things like classical music, and the music and movies from the 20's-50's over the 60's to today.
On another note I've said this before but just because something like a car or movie is 30 years old, that does not make it a classic. If you look at the cars from the mid to late 70's through the 80's I think you'll be hard pressed to find a classic in there. I feel that way about movies, not as many great movies made from then on, like we had from Hollywood's golden age. Of course this is just my opinion and many of you don't agree.

Well that seems odd, March must be a fluke month then. You must be doing East Coast time. Now go and do October November and December, oh and February.
I do most of my TCM watching on DVD because of this phenomenon.

TCM does not show all movies in their original aspect ratio, they are at the mercy of the distributors and show whatever they receive. For example today's showing of the Quiller Memorandum was shown in pan and scan.

What they need to do is sort by what time those post 50's movies are shown, then it would prove that you only see the early years if you are home in the morning to watch them. If you are like me and only turning on the tv in the evenings then yes, we only see modern movies being shown. There are some exceptions now and then like last night, but really the newer movies are on in the evenings so that is our perception of TCM now.

I'm recording it, kids are home making noise so I'll watch it later.
-
Thanks Fred, your picks are always right on.

"Except for TCM, I watch, occasionally, exactly 24 other channels within the 120 I pay for, which in itself is a crime but if I didn't pay it, I would only see 19 others because TCM and the remaining 5 are not on the lowest level."
I know how you feel mrsl, I watch only 2 channels, Foodnetwork and TCM, and my youngest daughter watches Nickelodeon and Disney channel, so we watch 4 channels but pay for 70 or so. It isn't fair that's for sure.

I am not a bitter person in the least. I'm just sick of the ignorance around here. This is the only place where the opinions are so ridiculously one sided that I have to post my frustration with the changes on TCM which was my favorite channel. That's what most message boards are for. I don't care if you don't like my screenname, and it's none of your business how I got it, besides yours is real original.
And by the way I don't need rude or threatening PM's from "brad the brokeback ranger" anymore, so tell your little toadie to lay off.
-

Of course nobody died, most of us are probably used to not watching TCM on Friday nights.
Just as nobody would die if this website was canceled, with the exception of yourself and brad and a couple of others - whatever would you do with yourselves?
-
I doubt they are "putting up with" anything. I'm sure very few if any TCM personnel actually go on this website, if they do they obviously don't care what is being said. Besides the percentage of TCM viewers that post here is miniscule.
-
No, you're thinking of Sorry Wrong Number. Dial M for Murder stars Grace Kelly.

I'm a single parent and I can't afford movies, I'd like to watch it for free on TCM.

Thanks, that is great news. TCM should show more precodes at prime time.
