  1. I do love silents. My favorites are Tess of Storm Country (the 1922 version), Stella Maris, The Patsy, and Nosferatu (its so dang creepy! those long fingernails!). I wish I could see more Pickford days. I would LOVE a whole day dedicated to her. The Patsy was really great, I just watched it again last night. I wish TCM could get their hands on some more Marion Davies silents...or any more for that matter! But don't get me wrong, I do appreciate what they give us. Thanks TCM Val
  2. Oh, that's the movie I forgot, "The Old Maid." That movie made me cry like crazy. I'm also glad like you I was in my room alone watching it because I swear I started to get hysterical! Oh, yeah, and I just watched Mr. Holland's Opus for like the 5th time, and when all his former students surprise him and play his symphony...ah...I can't stop crying through the whole thing. Forget that, I'm crying off and on through the whole movie!!!
  3. I realize this isn't a "classic movie" but in "Up Close and Personal" (spoilers) when she sees his boots on the screen and realizes he is dead, oh I was just sick. *end spoilers* I also bawled like a baby in "Now Voyager" when Davis is talking with Hendried's (sp?)daughter who is depressed at the clinic. I also, like everyone else, cried happy tears when James Stewart gets all the money he needs from the town in "Its a Wonderful Life." Oh, and I just watched Finding Neverland *spoilers* and I couldn't stop crying at the end when Depp's character is talking to the little boy about the unfai
  4. You know, I just realized I forgot Ginger Rogers in my list! I love her in The Major and the Minor, and of course in the Astaire/Rogers musicals, especially Swing Time.
  5. Hi, I wanted to know if there was any other reliable classic movie ordering sites to order from besides deepdiscountdvd.com, and moviesunlimitted.com. Thanks! Val:)

  11. Sunrise, Sunrise, SUNRISE! I don't know if its lost or not because I have heard many people speak of it in various other threads, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Its supposed to be a very important, and wonderful silent film, but I can't seem to get my hands on it.
  12. I glad September is only a few days away because i can't wait to see Myrna Loy's movies all month! I have only seen a handful of her movies (Best Years of Our Lives, Libeled Lady, The Thin Man, The Bachelor and the Bobby-soxer) and have really enjoyed her in them. It will be nice to see Myrna in her "bad girl" roles for a change. All I've ever seen of her is the motherly or good wife roles. I'm going to need a lot of recording tapes for this month! I am especially excited to see a few of her earlier films such as Emma, Thirteen Women, The Mask of Fu Manchu, The Squall, The Naughty Flirt,
  13. Welcome to TCM Wendy!! I am 18, but have been a fan of classic movies and TCM since I was 16. The first classic movie I ever watched was Jane Eyre (1944 Joan Fontaine, Orson Welles Version), and it is still one of my favorites! Val:)
  14. I was curious to know out of the stars featured in "Summer Under the Stars", who is your favorite actor/actress, or who are you most excited to see? I most excited to see Ginger Rogers and Claudette Colbert. I just became a fan of Rogers after seeing The Major and the Minor, and Swing Time, so I'm excited to see more of her. Also, I haven't seen very many movies with Claudette Colbert, but loved her in It Happened One Night, and I've wanted to see The Sign of the Cross, but missed it last time it was on TCM.
  15. I too have only seen a handful of silent movies, but my favorites so far are Tess of Storm Country and The Patsy.
