My dad went to see it and he told me he liked it better than the Peter Jackson King Kong movie so I'm definitely intrigued.

John Travolta (in Grease)
Next: Tutu
Vivien Leigh in Waterloo Bridge

Agree with most of those submitted, but especially these:
Barbara Stanwyck as Phyllis Dietrichson in Double Indemnity. Claire Trevor as Helen Grayle in Murder, My Sweet. Jane Greer as Kathie Moffat in Out of the Past. Lizabeth Scott as Dusty Chandler in the underrated Dead Reckoning.
Kathleen Turner as Matty Walker in Body Heat. Probably my Number One.
Linda Fiorentino, The Last Seduction.
Virginia Madsen, The Hot Spot.
Not sure about Audrey Totter, Gloria Grahame and Marie Windsor as "Femme Fatales." Maybe bad girls, but not quite devious or evil enough.
One of the interesting things that shows how good these women are/were as actresses is that they are totally believable in good girl, bad girl and femme fatale roles.
Compare Jane Greer in Out of the Past with Robert Mitchum and Jane Greer in The Big Steal with Robert Mitchum two years later. Not to mention dozens of roles with Stanwyck.
Occured to me that this would be a suitable thread for General Discussions, since Femme Fatales also exist in mystery, suspense, drama, etc.?
Yeah I suppose so. I only put in here because femme fetales are so prominent in film noirs.

Natalie -- WB's last major film star under long-term contract
By this time Flynn had died. Rock Hudson was at Universal, and Hayward was not under contract to Warners. Aside from Wood these people were almost all from the many Warners TV programs of the time.
Oh... Well I tried.

Jack Warner with his contract players on the WB lot, 1961

How many can you identify from the following close shots?

Rock Hudson
Susan Hayward
Natalie Wood
Errol Flynn
Did I get any right?

John Garfield (I think his name was Jules Garfield before it was changed to John Garfield)
If you don't think he counts, then just ignore this.

4. During the scene where Alex meets the two "devotchkas" (women) at the record store, the 2001: A Space Odyssey album can be seen underneath the counter.

Is that not Alan Arkin's coolest performance ever?
Love that guy.
Yeah, he was really good. I almost didn't recognize him when he first showed up! He looked so young.

Like MURDER MY SWEET?
I've never seen that but thanks for letting me know. I just saw Wait Until Dark, the 1967 thriller that starred Audrey Hepburn. There was a happy ending in that that I didn't like. The rest of the movie is great though.

Here's an unpopular opinion. I hate it when a dark, suspenseful film is given a happy ending. It is enough to make me cringe.

My Neighbor Totoro
Next: on set drama hampered filming

10. The movie won more Oscars in one evening than any other Disney movie.
Next: A Clockwork Orange

Dan Ackroyd. He seems like an interesting guy.
Next: Which film director would you rather get in to a heated argument with? Francis Ford Coppola or Stanley Kubrick?

Meryl Streep
Next: surprisingly shy in real life

I was so shocked to hear the news. I loved to watch Twister as a kid and Bill Paxton's character in that movie always fascinated me. I rooted for him in every movie I saw him in. RIP

Mine is Veda Pierce from Mildred Pierce because her relationship with her mother reminds me of my rekationship with my mother. I can be downright cruel to her at times but at the same time I need her more than anything. If I lost her, I don't know what I'd do. That's why Mildred Pierce is such an impressive film because it's a true representation of how far a parent would go to protect thier child even if they are spoiled brats.

I don't think she was a terrible actress though. Her acting abilities were decent at best but her range was very limited. Did she ever star in a movie where she wasn't a pampered rich girl? Here's an unpopular opinion......I think one of the most overrated actresses of all time is Grace Kelly. Besides her ridiculous diction (which I presume she had to learn to overcome her Philly accent), I still think the Academy was out of their minds to vote for her over Judy Garland in A Star is Born.
