I am not saying that I do not think that Renee shouldn't have won. She probably should have, I am just saying I do not personally like her, but that does not mean I am denying her acting ability. So you guys don't like Sean Penn, that's perfectly fine, but you cannot deny that he has talent. You said that Sean's primary emotion is anger in his films. This is true, but not always. He has been nominated for 4 Academy Awards, in which two of them, I Am Sam and Sweet and Lowdown his primary emotion was not anger, neither of those performances are what some people would call "typical Sean Penn roles" and yet he excelled in both roles and got nominated. I agree that Sean Penn has a big ego, but that doesn't mean that he is not a great actor, so many movie stars have big egos, Sean Penn just makes his more open to the public.

I respect your opinion I may disagree with it but nevertheless I respect it. I hope you will respect mine.

I cannot believe that there are some people out there that deny Sean Penn's talent. He's the greatest thing we have right now, and I think people should appreciate that. Just because he does not follow the Hollywood type does not mean that we should not respect him. I think that he was long overdue for an Oscar, and the reason he got a standing ovation is because everyone in that audience (except Bill Murray apparently) knows that he is currently the greatest in their profession.

As for actress, I have seen Monster three times and I am extremely pleased that she won, because I made a promise to myself, that if she didn't that I would never watch the Academy Awards again.

Best Supporting Actor gave justice to the miraculous performance that Tim Robbins gave.

I am sorry, I am sure that Renee was great in Cold Mountain, but I personally, just don't like her. I think she is a good actress, but I just don't like her. I would have rather seen Shoreh Aghdashloo win.

As for the Lord of the Rings sweep, I am dissapointed. I do not think it was fair for that rest of the movies, I would understand if it was the best in all of the catogories, but it certainly was not in a few of them. I thought the editing in that movie should not have been even nominated, let alone won, the last 20 minutes were terrible due to editing. City of God should have won. Anyway that is all I have to say
