  1. Marilyn Eastman, how sad. I didn't know she was partners with the actor who played her husband, Karl Hardman. Night of the Living Dead terrified me when I saw it when it first came out.
  2. I agree. I think TCM is trying too hard to appease the younger and "woke" audience instead of continuing to follow the familiar landscape. I miss Robert Osborne and his intro, set and voice more and more. Maybe I hate change, but I loved TCM for bringing me back to the past. I'm now watching old movies in a funky new 2021 setting and I don't care for it.
  3. Does anyone else notice this? Is it maybe because he had the cancer on his tongue? Or is it my imagination?
  4. I wish I could remember the name, I had even once considered contacting Robert Osborne about it, thinking he might know the name, but I didn't have luck finding contact info. It had to have been published before 1972, and since my mother told me it had been my father's book, it might have been 10 years old at that time. If you find anything, please let me know.
  5. Where did you find that bobble head? I would love to have one of those. I have to search for one right now.
  6. When I was about 9, my sisters and I would be left alone alot, especially at night. We were scared, so learned to leave the t.v. on for company. It was then I that learned about the "black and white old movies" that were better than anything else on t.v. I couldn't learn enough about the actors and actresses, and when I was 14 found a huge coffee table book that listed every movie ever made, along with all the info for each participant in the movie and a synopsis. I loved it. Whenever someone needed info about a movie or actor, they were sent to me. When I heard they were starting a netw
  7. I love The Student Prince at Old Heidelberg. Ramon Navarro (one of my all time favorites) and Norma Shearer were so good together. Also anything with Lon Chaney in it, especially The Unknown, The Unholy Three, West of Zanzibar and The Blackbird. He is amazing.
  8. I did read on more than one occasion that she did have a Philly accent, even so far as to say that it was "nasal". To say that only people who didn't have money had an accent is kind of ridiculous. I live in NYC, and whether you have money or not, you have a New Yawk accent.
  9. Here's an unpopular opinion......I think one of the most overrated actresses of all time is Grace Kelly. Besides her ridiculous diction (which I presume she had to learn to overcome her Philly accent), I still think the Academy was out of their minds to vote for her over Judy Garland in A Star is Born.
  10. In her time, she was considered beautiful. "Cute"? Never. Too much sex appeal to be cute. Who do you consider beautiful? I think Loretta Young (in her earlier movies though - her face seemed to have changed somehow, I can't put my finger on it, though.
  11. I wish Tiffany Vasquez would familiarize herself on the proper pronunciations of some actors and actresses names. Two she mispronounced are Victor McLaglen - she said McLAGlen (like jet lag), when it is pronounced like McLoughlin. Another name she said wrong was Franchot Tone. She said FranCHOT, when it is FranCHO. She is stiff, is obviously reading off a Teleprompter, and I think they could have done better. Ben and Robert are amazing, although Robert has been MIA lately. I realize he is in his 80's, so I hope he is doing well.
