Thanks, Stellablue. Everyone here is so nice! I haven't had much experience with message boards, except for one other site that is about soap operas. I don't want to unintentionally break any rules here. When I happened across this board, I was so excited! Most of my friends don't appreciate my love of classic movies (I'm 38), so it's great to find a website with people of all ages who adore the best movies ever made, and the actors/actresses, directors, etc. (big smile)

This is a toughie, but I'd have to say (judging from the films I've seen so far from these two wonderful actors), I enjoy Jimmy Stewart just a tad more than Cary Grant. They both were very, very talented though.

I agree that Jack Lemmon did an awesome job in "Days of Wine and Roses". Other actors I thought did great performances of drunks were Clark Gable (in Gone With The Wind and The Misfits), and Tony Randall in "Send Me No Flowers".

Thanks, Classicsfan! I totally understand where you're coming from. I have yet to see a lot of Bette Davis' movies. Perhaps I should have said "what's your fave(s) of the ones you've seen so far?". I've heard "Mr. Skeffington" is great, too. I didn't care for "The Man who Came to Dinner" much though.

Thanks, MovieJoe. It's nice to be here. I ADORE classic movies! Last August, I was glued to TCM channel when they had a different star on for each day.

Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to TCM. I'm just wondering what Bette Davis movies you enjoy the most? I love her in All About Eve, Now, Voyager and The Petrified Forest.

Hedy is not the most beautiful, but she certainly was gorgeous.

What do you think of the movie "Mildred Pierce" (1945) J. Crawford

I absolutely adore this movie, for more reasons than one. Not only is Joan Crawford incredibly realistic in her role of hard-working Mildred Pierce, but Jack Carson (Wally), Ann Blyth (Veda), Eve Arden (Ida), and Zachary Scott (Monty) SHINE in their roles as well! What is your opinion of this film?
