  1. 9) She has 14 children, 4 biological and 10 adopted
  2. The best Bob Dylan documentary, he is just on the cusp of changing over to electric rock from acoustic folk. One memorable scene has a British female fan telling him how much she loves "The Times They Are A-Changin' but doesn't like "Subterranean Homesick Blues". He says "Oh you're that kind, I understand right now"
  3. Gary Merrill was in The Incident with Martin Sheen
  4. 2) She first became known for the TV series "Peyton Place"
  5. I love the cast but one of the worst films of the 1950s. Basil Rathbone has the lead but I am sure he just needed some money. Lon Chaney Jr and Bela Lugosi are both cast as mutes so they have no lines. They had co starred in several earlier films and were not on good terms. They argued on the set and it nearly came to a fight, according to the director.
  6. Battle Of The Sexes (2017) 4/10 I had high expectations for this one, Emma Stone and Steve Carell are both highly talented actors and the directors had made one of my favorite 21st century films "Little Miss Sunshine". It tells us about the events leading up to the exhibition tennis match between current female champ Billie Jean King and former male champ Bobby Riggs. But the writing is poor, it's soap opera with a lot of preachy "Lifetime movie" moments. Stone (as Billie Jean King) and even Carell (as Bobby Riggs) underplay their parts but they are OK. The supporting cast is mostly one dimensional characters. I recall the real match and hype that went on back in 1973 and it was a lot more fun than this movie.
  7. Bing Crosby was in Stagecoach (1966) with Mike Connors
  8. 10) He suffered from emphysema and needed an oxygen tank on set in his later years. Next-Mia Farrow
  9. Steve McQueen Next-The Iceman Cometh (1973)
  10. I have often thought the same thing. That Fonda would be cast as Captain York, the one who wants to reason and negotiate with the Apaches, while Wayne would be Colonel Thursday who looks to do battle with these people he considers savages. It might have been a warmup for Wayne to play Ethan Edwards in "The Searchers". I think "Fort Apache" is a good western though I wish we more of the Thursday/York conflict and less of the Shirley Temple/John Agar romance.
  11. according to Susan Atkins, they avoided the high metal gates and picked a spot in the fence and climbed over one at a time.
  12. I own 6 of the Criterion Collection I will go over the extras since I believe that is the big selling point for these: Fanny And Alexander (1983) the greatest extras on this , my favorite foreign language film. It has the 3 hour theatrical version as well as the 5 hour TV miniseries, in both subtitled and dubbed versions. A "Making Of" documentary, new interviews with some cast members. Nashville (1975) a great package, has both DVD and Blu Ray versions. New documentary with cast members Ronee Blakley, Keith Carradine, Lily Tomlin. Several archival interviews with director Robert Altman. Altman also does audio commentary. The Most Dangerous Game (1932) a good restored print. Only extra is an audio commentary by a film historian, which I haven't even listened to. The Night Of The Hunter (1955) one of my top ten films of all time. The extras have some archival interviews with Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters, Lillian Gish. The best thing is a full length version of the film where we see and hear Laughton directing the cast and crew on every scene, an absolute gold mine for film buffs. Ride The Pink Horse (1947) a good 2K digital restoration. There are some audio and new interviews with film historians, I had heard and seen them but can't really recall anything about them. Sundays And Cybele (1962) I had waited a long time for this to be DVD, well worth the wait. The digital transfer is beautiful. Some new interviews with director Serge Bourguignon and actors Hardy Kruger and Patricia Gozzi (who played the little girl in this).
  13. This was my favorite of the lot. George Sanders is one of the clever and evil villains in film history here. Barbara Stanwyck is also excellent.
  14. This was OK. Don Stroud plays another one of the slimy creeps he portrayed so often in the 1970s. My favorite scene is when he is blocking Eastwood's way up a staircase, but Clint just tosses him tumbling down the stairs!
  15. Look Who's Talking Next-Audrey Hepburn
  16. Darryl Hickman was in Men Of Boys Town with Spencer Tracy
  17. Two Mules For Sister Sara Next-Frank Sinatra
  18. Henry Jones was in The Bad Seed with Paul Fix
  19. 6) A typical English gentleman, he was fond of cricket and had tea breaks written into his movie contract.
  20. Ayres gives one of his best performances in the sci fi Jekyll and Hyde type film.
  21. Sounds first class. That is one remake I might see.
  22. Blue Velvet Next-Citizen Ruth (Laura Dern double feature)
