I think it is just a personal preference. My friend's husband told me the other day that he like's to watch movies for the special effects, and that he can't stand to watch anything made before the 90's. I couldn't help but think that he doesn't know what he is missing. But maybe he isn't missing anything if it something he doesn't enjoy. I have actually found myself watching a movie for an hour before I realize that it is in black and white.

I watched a movie with my mother when I was a kid and she still talks about this movie, but we have no idea what the title was or even who was in it. I remember that there was a lady in this movie that had two great danes and she called them "Get off the rug, and you too". My mother said she remembered that there was a man in the movie that was a writer. He was driving and his car broke down and he walked to a house to get help. The people at the house thought he was there for the butler job, so he stayed and worked for them. This is all I know about this movie. If anyone knows the name of it my mother and I would love to know what it is.

Back to the original topic, I look at things like blackface just a part of history it is a sign of the times. I personally find it offensive when men spank women in movies because the women don't "behave" themselves the way men want. For instance I think Donovan's Reef is a great movie, but I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on seeing this movie because I find a small part of it offensive.

I always liked Xavier Cugat's chihuahuas.

I have one that is not a classic but is very funny. The scene in Rainman when Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise are in the phone booth together.

One of my favorite phone booth scenes is in the movie Sabrina.

This is my first post here. I wasn't going to say anything but I feel I have to confess a crush. It is Fred Astaire. He is not a handsome man but I have always thought there is just something about him.

If you could choose one movie...

This is a really tough choice. I'm tempted to choose anything with Gary Cooper just so I could stare at him forever, but I'm going to have to go with my all time favorite feel good movie Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
