Oh just let tcm air the warner communications version. We already have the correct version on dvd let them show something different on the channel especially if it saves tcm money to not air the probably more expensive one. Besides I kinda like the intro to the pan-n-scan one. I know I'll buy the dvd soon but then what will be much of the point to see it on tv?

Also I loved those Pepsi > commmercials Ray made. I love those Ray pepsi commercials too! They made me buy the product! Can't stand the other celebrities though.

Oops forgot too add if we do things like the JUNE BUGS we can see all that censored footage and banned toons like MISSIPEE HARE. Please, at least give us a program on vod. TCMPROGRAMER, if you're ever involved any outside the tcm department on the Time Warner ladder please tell cn to put popeye on vod. I am using this forum to do things like this because this is the best thing thats happened in a while, to be able to communicate with an insider at tcm. And last if you do this, be sure to tell them THE POPEYE SHOW and not some other print inferior in quality like aap. Thank you.

That's real funny GWTW. If anyone thinks I'm a traitor to features don't I love features I just need a dose of animated shorts since cn abandoned them and went all adult swim on everybody tcm's my only hope. I have another idea, why don't tcm go into the Video On Demand feature that's available on Time Warner Cable? Then we can watch movies and selected packaged programs whenever we want for about two weeks. I can see it on the menu now, it would be like a theater, one musical, one drama, one adventure, one precode (he he), and a John Nesbit's Passing Parade program. Are you listening TCMPROGRAMER? All cn exclusive specialty shows like toonheads, tex avery, bob clampet, and chuck jones could also be on tcm vod or cn vod. Better yet why isn't there simply tcm cable?!?! Instead of getting all these other cable channels every channel's tcm with something different on each one. With a 100 channels, a 100 movies each having a 24 hour run. Technology's incredible! Oh and throw in a few silents for our little friend here.

I strongly recommend you pick up the cartoon network exclusive program, THE POPEYE SHOW after your brother channel threw it out. It's a wonderful quality show and it's a shame it's not being used. My suggestion is that you show it after the Silent Sunday Night feature since most early movies can be under 1 hour 30 minutes and they start at 12:00 so that would leave room at 1:30 and then the next feature can begin at an even 2:00. Please, all I ask for is 30 minutes a week. Thank you.

My point was if I thought they were great when I thoght it was Chaplin, then there's no question, I'm not partial I love 'em all although I realize they all had there uniqe and sometimes very different qualitys but the outcome's the same, they make me laugh till it hurts. Okay maybe I'm a little partial. How can I turn my back to the tramp.

SPOILER!I love this movie! How did they ever get that effect with his leg? It really looks like it was gone! Also, were those title cards censored for the 40s release or have they always been like that? Oh well, things don't bother me if they were done in the past. Like most people I learned of Charlie Chaplin first and thought he was hilariouse. When I saw my first HL and later BK movie I thought it WAS Chaplin. What does that tell you?

I'm thinking of starting to record with vhs off tcm soon so whats the best brand of blank tapes? I was thinking of sony. Also, are we going to have another SUMMER UNDER THE STARS this year, I really hope so because I would start recording with that so I can separate and label each tape by the actor. Please write back and I will appreciate any and everything. Thank you.

deeanddaisy, I like you I just don't understand what your promblem is with movies in color. There are some beautiful technicolor movies and they're real eyecandy. Some of them even have a better than usual story to back up and balance out so the gorgeos picture doesn't overrule the film. Also, whats with the numbers after your name, they're not very tasteful.

Rita sure did smoke alot didn't she? That would be the blame for her aging because you age certainlly,but most people don't age the way those interveiws put it.

A few suggestions, more cartoons (pick up the fleisher COLOR CLASSICS that amc dumped, they're at ucla), and only show your tv logo where the picture ends on letterbox films. And bring back the tcm newsboy for THIS WEEK IN HOLLYWOOD HISTORY but give Machiwitz another good job. Do these things and you will be perfect. C'mon people, this is a rare chance, tell him!

Why dont you go to amc Leo? You dont ever have to worry about them showing a silent there unless they run SILENT MOVIE by I think Mel Brooks and Steve Martin then you might be in trouble.
