  1. I bet Robert Osbourn did program this. If some young intern had his way he'd probably show new stuff. Leo would be watching STORM OF THE ORPHANS tonight and yeah, I'd like to here his screenwriting experience too.
  2. What in the world, who is this guy. Man I dont know who you are, but you're probably in for some serious cussing out from more angry people than I. Its okay if you dont like a film but have them burned? You sir, go against everything I stand for and I demand satisfaction. If I had a glove I would give it to someone else to slap you. THE KID is a Charlie Chaplin classic to.
  3. Thats good if you can play multiple ranges of different nationalities and still look your best. Didn't a lot of actors play AS the germans whether a nazi or a citenzen in ww2 films?
  4. Thats alright, it don't matter. Its her performing skills and talent that count. Same with rita, I don't care if she's bald. I'd still like to know though. Can't hurt their feelings they're both dead.
  5. While we're discussing looks heres a question, was judy garland overall, in general, pretty or ugly? My family can't seem to decide.
  6. I like that short they did after WHAT'S MINE I GIVE. Was that the biginning of echopello? You know the one with the "galaxy of stars". Weren't they those inkblots band?
  7. What and why are those certain versions on tcm? Around the world in 80 days is always that warner communications presentation. Why don't they show the actual complete print of the film? And I remember ON THE TOWN with that new looking embroidery around the movie.
  8. I like THE PIRATE! I know, not a real pirate movie
  9. Ah yes, how could I forget WB's great sound they even had a whole orchestra for their cartoons. I wonder if Treg Brown was responsible for the features guns and fists effects. Hmm now lets see who I forgot to give credit to. We've covered two senses sight and sound umm, I guese mgm smelt good.(he he). Thank you for your posts.
  10. Sorry I haven't been here in a while but let me just say COOL to roldfilm's post. I never thoght of it that way. Okay let me try, WB must of had a rough, gritty, kinda dirty street feel to it, Paramount maybe had a magestic feel to it as the logo implies, Columbia had a cheap feel to it (ha ha), RKO had a modern streame lined look, and Fox had a epic feel to it. Ah, another quality b&w has that color can't but don't get me wrong I love Technicolor and I know I'm probably wrong on a lot of the above.
  11. Hey I have a question for all you "oldies but goodies" out there. Try to remember exactlly what a movie on its first release looked liked. Now when they restore a film to its very originality, does it look the same or not?
  12. Tcm shows way too much mgm. I'd like to see more paramount, universal, and columbia. And they seem to only show wb and mgm cartoons. Turner enterprises does have a whole lot in their library because over in europe and such they show columbia screen gems over there on their cartoon network. Is there a tcm over there.
  13. "Tommy Boy" was funny. And "Men in Black" with tentacles throwing Will Smith.
  14. Frank Tashlin (Tish Tash) was good. Anybody remember "Porky Pigs Feet".
  15. EASTER PARADE. Jules Munshin is so funny there from everyone leaving and not eating anything there "Dinner for three...two...one" and him getting mad in his snooty french character to his salad act. "the onion...so gay" with big closeup on face?
  16. This may be very controversal, its not even my favorite I just think its a clever line, Blazing Saddles where the two main charaters are playing the bait to lure the **** members, "Yoo hoo boys," "Hey where all the white women at". That just ticked the **** members off so much, a "sissy" man and a black man who (in their minds) wanted to mess with "their" women.
  17. Any line from the FOX BATMAN movie. Still like the movie though and like the dvd price better.
  18. Thank you so much. Yes I was worried about them being bad prints. As for the 1937 title lets hope wb will release a good version of it along with other David O. Selznick movies (especially technicolor ones) and a collectors edition GONE WITH THE WIND.
  19. Hello I'm new here. I realy need some information on the JUDY GARLAND SIGNATURE COLLECTION. All signs point good towards it. Its released by WARNER BROTHERS so thats a good sign, it was on the same release date as the five new releases (april 6th), and it even has four of them except MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS 2 disc of course plus other movies. I'm usualy very weary about boxsets sometimes though because what if its versions of poorer quality that maybe wb wants to use. You want them all to be restored, uncut, nothing altered and A STAR IS BORN (which is included in the collection) to be letterboxed. Do you think theyre the same ones that you can get individualy? Its at amazon but not tcm or movies unlimited which was strange to me. Any information will be greatly apreciated. Also I saw where there are many versions of the 1937 A STAR IS BORN and all the descriptions say that its in b&w. I thought that movie was originally in technicolor. Thank you.
