  1. great film.....probably my favorite one from Robert Siodmak.
  2. one of my all-time favorites. like so many others....i've seen many many times & never gotten tired of it.
  3. Try: PHANTOM LADY(1940) & RIDE THE PINK HORSE(1947...I believe) also try: ANGEL FACE ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT CRISS CROSS
  4. Love the genre too much not to ask this question. I'm a writer & have a desire to use a lot of the common noir themes from the 40's in the script. Phrases like "Sorry Charlie" or shadow character types like Femme Fatales & also the classic 'bad guy hero' type. I wonder though, would it sell without swear words? Would the low budget be enough to win the studio and/or producer? I might wait until I've finished film school that way I can Direct it to get the desired effect out of it. NOT NEO-NOIR.....FILM NOIR......could it work today?
  5. While the City Sleeps & Five Star Final....couple of gems.
  6. he was a God to me......On the Waterfront & Streetcar Named Desire influenced me in becoming a screenwriter & pursue a life in the movie biz. definition of LEGEND in every sense, imo.
  7. Not a TCM programmer, but I GUARANTEE you see one helluva lineup for OCTOBER. Last year TCM did a month long tribute to BORIS KARLOFF & HAMMER FILMS Saw unique Karloff from WALKING DEAD to DEVIL'S ISLAND & MASK OF FU MANCHU Hammer gems like: HORROR OF DRACULA, REPTILE & DEVIL'S BRIDE....something-i don't what- happened on the last film the had scheduled: LEGEND OF THE 7 GOLDEN VAMPIRES was subed with DEVIL'S OWN.....which was tragic
  8. My friend...you made an egg-cell-ant choice with buying RASHOMAN.....10/10

  10. Humphrey Bogart in TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE Marlon Brando in ON THE WATERFRONT INGRID BERGMAN in NOTORIUS KATHERINE HEPBURN in THE LION IN WINTER
  11. I go around the house saying, "Hi, I'm Robert Osborne!" Even have my roomies saying it. The man's become a close friend of mine & I've never even met him! Haha! Really looking forward to seeing HUD tonight, this'll be my first time watching it.
  12. Excellent timing on airing it. Another gold star for Humphrey Bogart, in a quite different role than usual....second film with SYLVIA SIDNEY??? Dead End was the first, right? 8/10 from me.....you guys keep airing Bogart films & I'll keep spreading the good word
  13. talk about timing....just checked the schedule. it IS being aired once a month over the next (3) months. *gives TCM another standing ovation, like only Mickey Rooney would give*
  14. It worked for me.....it'll work for you 2!!! I know CASBLANCA's known as the greatest date movie ever, but sometimes I disagree. Wuthering Heights is an amzing picture in my opinion. I also know guys aren't usually too fond of love stories but this one that I consider a NECESITY in my film library. I think today(6/23) marks the 5th or 6th time I've watched it.....and it still tastes as good as the first time around. if TCM aired it once a month they'd get no complaints from me.......10/10.
  15. Holy God, you posted this a bunch.....probably forum troubles again. I had'em yesterday.
  16. had the same problem yesterday....seems fine for me today though.
  17. dude, if the forum would let me make 1 post today without an error it'll be a miracle. Maybe its my machine, not the forum.
  18. i'm with ya. but yeah, highly unlikely. TCM dips into some foreign.....but not too much
  19. Gimme Karloff but I'd still take Lu-Gosi
  20. PSYCHO's a choice-choice too.......muhahahaha....I'll be seeing this one Thursday night at Screen on the Green at Piedmont Park. Place is gonna be crawling with crazies that night! This'll be my first time seeing Psycho on the big screen...and my time seeing it OUTSIDE nursing cold beers. I actually made this post on the Looney Tunes thread too...you see...you see what I've become!!! hahahaha!!
