I think it's great, I'm having a lot of fun with the wheel but I'm still exploring!
I'm in New Zealand and it makes me wish it's summer here. Unfortunately it's the middle of winter.

I guess it comes down to the fact they cannot highlight everyone, so they just picked several key actors & actresses. I guess TCM will highlight him another time...
and of course there is the Adam's Rib desktop which you can download like I did.

Clark Gable, in It Happened One Night?

Yes he was oscar-nominated for that role - Best Supporting Actor. He lost to Robin Williams for Good Will Hunting.

Jean Arthur.
Did a little search on imdb pro using that quote... didn't take me long to find that tucked away in her trivia page.

My guess is Louis B Mayer. It sounds like something he might have said too.

I never seem to catch this movie when they show it on TCM (I'm in New Zealand... they always show things at odd times)
Recently I saw that it was going to be available via amazon.com and I added it to my wishlist for later. Suddenly it comes up as product discontinued??

I have a soft spot for On the Town... a really big one.
I only started watching musicals & other classic movies seriously about a year and a half ago, and that was the second musical I purchased on DVD.
I also love watching The Band Wagon (close second for me), and I can't believe that it's not on DVD yet.

I still think MGM. If it wasn't for their stars, their films would be nothing indeed. A lot of my favourite films in that period are from that studio.

Kim Cattrall in the role of Dorothy... that would be interesting. I could just picture her saying those characters lines. But I don't think she'd ever measure up to Jane Russell in that film. I'd just spend the whole time comparing it to the original, which I just adore.
For me though, it would be hard for anyone to replicate Marilyn Monroe's performance on the screen. I know a lot of people have played the role of Lorelai Lee on the stage, but when it comes to the film version... that role was kinda hers and hers alone.
