  3. Mandee, Am so glad to have helped you. You are very welcome!
  4. Mandee, The movie is SPLIT INFINITY and is from 1992. it is a girl, not a boy ,who is the main part of this story and, she is up in the hayloft when she falls and is then back in time and she tries to save her grandfather's farm. She turns the farm into a Fair to raise money. Here is some of what the movie is about: A young girl redefines her notion of success in the time-travel family drama SPLIT INFINITY. Obsessed with fashion and wealth, materialistic teenager A.J. Knowlton (Melora Slover) resents her middle-class family and blames their lowly financial status on her grandfather's loss of the family farm during the Great Depression. One night, after a fall, A.J. finds herself magically transported back in time to the year 1929, where she meets her then-young grandfather Frank (Trevor Black) and discovers a family secret that changes her values forever. This movie is on DVD, and I also own it. Very good movie.
  5. BD53, the movie is titled HAND IN HAND from 1960 . Here is what it is about: Director Philip Leacock, praised for his handling of child actors, does another excellent job with the two young stars in this story about religious tolerance ? and intolerance. Loretta Parry is Rachel, a seven-year-old Jewish girl whose best friend and playmate Michael (Philip Needs) is exactly the same age. Michael has been raised in an Irish Catholic family, but neither child thinks very much about their religious differences. At least, not until certain biases begin to make their presence known. But Rachel and Michael's friendship is so strong that even when they visit each other's place of worship and are wholly intimidated by the strangeness of it all, they still remain best buddies. Interwoven with threads of wisdom that might be a little forced at times, this family-oriented drama is also enlivened by comic moments and good acting and directing that keep the story from slipping into saccharine clich?s. I am happy to have helped you out
  6. > Same old tired, and tiresome, stuff. I agree with ya, its just the same movies shown millions if not billions of times allready!!!
  7. Theres a couple more movie books I forgot to mention in my list and they too were published by Crown and they are: THE DISNEY STUDIO STORY THE HOLLYWOOD MUSICAL Both of these books are HUGE, like the others and, the Hollywood Musical book does the same deal as the other studio books where it goes year by year, lists each film and has a scene still from it, what the movie is about, the cast, but this one lists of course, all of the songs that are in each of the movies. A very wonderful book and this too has all glossy pages.
  8. For those of us who love the wonderful movies of the golden years of Hollywood, there were some great books that were published by Crown Publishers from 1979 thru to about 1986. These were HUGE hardcover books that were on a different movie studio and their titles were: THE WARNER BROS. STORY THE RKO STORY THE MGM STORY THE UNITED ARTISTS STORY THE UNIVERSAL STORY THE COLUMBIA STORY THE PARAMOUNT STORY there was alslo another book very much like these from Citidel Press called THE FILMS OF 20TH CENTURY FOX in these books, they would have a very nice detailed story on how each studio came into being and there is so much information . Then, these books would go year by year in listing each movie along with a photo from each movie and description of what the movie is about, who stars in them and who directed. Very well done! These books are treasures and, I will bet that many of you reading this also have these books or, know of them. The pages for the Crown Publishers books are all glossy and, these books were well made. nice and large hardcovers with dustjackets. These books start with the listings of movies from the beginning of when the studios started making movies all the way up till the time the book was published. They are all very detailed!! These books are great also for using on movies that TCM shows, so you can have a better idea what the movie is about and get to see a scene still from the movie as well. I just wanted to make you aware of these books, just in case you did not know about them. I got all these books at the time they were first were published . Now and then, ebay has these books,in case any of you are interested in these wonderful books.
  9. lzcutter , Thanks so much for all your time in posting all you did. What a downer it is to know they do not own the films anymore We will just have to try as best we can to enjoy the rare classics they do show and, just put up with the many ,many movies shown so much over and over.
  10. filmlover ,what I mean is, for movies only, 99.9% of the movies shown are the same ones that TCM has shown "a billion times " over!! Yes I know there are SOME new classic films shown, but don't you notice that month after month after month they keep showing all the other movies so very much? it gets sickning because after all don't we all pay a lot of money a month to be able to watch TCM??? So,after all, I am sure and I KNOW I am not alone in feeling this way!! back in the day, TCM used to show so many movies they DO OWN and have not shown in years!! All they do is show the same movies and its so boring! We all hope that, when TCM puts up the new month's listings that finally there will be tons of movies shown that they have not shown in a moondog's age BUT, its always the same movies. What needs to be done is have a TCM 2 and TCM 3 because then, there would be so much MORE to be shown that never gets shown of the classic goodies!! And there would be such variety for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Once again the same ol' movies that have been shown well over a billion times now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. The name of this movie is "LITTLE DARLINGS" with Kristy McNichol and Tatum O'Neal and is from 1980.

  15. These are real bloopers, because the scenes are from well known Warner Bros. movies and the stars make mistakes in their lines or forget their lines. Many times you hear the director yell "CUT". What Warners did was to collect all the bloopers for each year and would show them at the year end parties they would have. I have the complete rare collection of these. I also have a number of 20TH Century Fox bloopers too with some Charlie Chan flubs and others. Am getting all this very rare stuff onto DVD-R to preserve it all! Got tons of it!
  16. I have these very rare bloopers that I got years ago. Its well over an hours worth of Warner Bros. movie bloopers from the 1930's thru to the late 1940's and The ones form the 1930's also have Porky Pig swearing! This is the one where he is shown hammering and he keeps hitting his thumb and he keeps saying "son of a bi ba bi ba bi" and he fades out, and then is shown again about 3 more times doing this and then finelly he says after he hits himself again, he does his stutter thing and then says " son of a gun",then he laughs and says "ha ha ha I bet you thought I was going to say Son of a b..ch didn't you!". I also have the very rare Abbott and Costello bloopers from most all their Universal films. But as to the Warner Bros. bloopers these are a real hoot tho, to se the big stars all turning the air blue! YIKES!! Also have the rare bloopers from MY MAN GODFREY and in these Carole Lombard says "Sh.t", double YIKES!! All these are rare treasures indeed!!!
  17. WHY is it TCM just keeps showing the same movies over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, month after month after month after month after month and year after year after year??!!! I remember so well when TCM years ago would always show lots of their rare movies they own from RKO and Warners! I think its time that TCM started up a 2nd channel so that lots more of the movies they own could be shown that they do not ever air! I always am anxious for TCM to post the next month's listings in hopes that finally they will show movies I have requested and also movies that they have not shown in ages!! BUT its always the same movies that they have now shown well over a billion times!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

  19. I want to mention that she was so great in WAKE UP AND DREAM and SCUDDA HOO SCUDDA HEY.
  20. its because the movie is a 20th Century Fox film
  21. The name of the movie is STRANGE INVADERS from 1983. In this subtly humorous, alien-invasion film by Michael Laughlin, who co-wrote the screenplay with William Condon, the aliens infiltrate a small Midwestern town in 1958 and beam the "spirits" of several of the townspeople up to their spacecraft in little blue bubbles, while they settle into the bodies of their new farm personae. But Margaret (Diana Scarwid), one of their number, leaves for life and marriage in New York and has a daughter Elizabeth by her earthling husband Charles Bigelow (Paul LeMat), a professor. After two decades or so go by, the aliens opt for returning to their home planet, but they have to first go to the city dressed as farmers and round up Margaret and her daughter. Soon Charles figures out what is going on with the help of the tough, optimistic Betty Walker (Nancy Allen), a reporter for a tabloid paper, and the two head to the town where it all started. The light contrast between the bucolic '50s and the street-wise '80s gives way to a few shocking scenes of repugnant aliens in transformation with formidable special effects.
  22. Don't forget Frank was a member of the great Dixieland jazz band FIREHOUSE FIVE PLUS TWO and he played a hot piana!!
  23. As always, TCM is showing the same movies they always do over and over and over and over and over and over again, month after month, and year after year!!! They never show the hundreds of other movies they own. They never show the movies I have requested so many times and are movies they do own. I wish they would start a TCM 2 channel so that the chances would be much better to get to see all the other movies they own but never show!!
  24. The reason for the many duplicate postings is because when they click on the "SUBMIT" button, it does not right away show the posting and so they all think its not working and so they keep clicking on it many times and thus, this is why you see so many postings of the same thing. Of course some know this and just keep clicking on it because they think the more they do this the better the chances the movie they ask for will be shown. Also, most all the movies they ask for are movies that TCM does not own.
