20/'s maybe 30's movie set in Europe/ monte carlo.
A british air force guy (lead role) is hanging at the beach w/ his "want to be" royalty friends oggl'ing at the "dutchess of rye" on a dock. The air force guy swims to check her out and they end up spending time together doing normal everyday things together.
During a drive in his convertible they pick up a thug relocated from new york and they end up getting pulled over and her picture is in the newspapers as a scandal.
Basically after the scandal she cant see him and since he is helpful to the thug, the thug decides to help him win the dutchess of rye back.... blah blah
this is kinda hard..
Great movie and I hope someone with a better memory than I can recall for me!!

I just got the "Best of Chet Baker Sings" album today and I must say the entire CD is amazing!!!
Piano, brass, brushes on the drums, and that Chet voice!!
