However it is possible that you could be right I mean Davis and Clift could have made a movie like the one you describe-since my movie knowledge is not vast.

  7. My mom had a very dear friend who looked liked Sammy Davis Jr. He would say Sammy Davis actually looked like him. I love Sammy Davis Jr. Don't know if my computer will let me watch but I'll give it a shot.

  10. have you tried to find the scene on imdb I've never tried this but stumbled onto it-it looks for keywords so cupckes, trains or explosion might help you find it ...gwtwbooklover
  11. So...it made the light shining on the film?? not run the projector the light shined on the film from the carbon arcs and this light helped project the film onto the screen????

  15. okay my last post disappeared so I posted that anyway I got some help from the imdb to see what movies Charlotte Greenwood was in and the I did the rest on my own. All except the correct title of the Charle angel's movie Demi Moore was in and the correct spelling of Drew Barrymore's name.....here goes

Mongo please answer a ? for me if you can-what is TCM showing or what is happening or use to happen- the between movies fillers has two iron rods(if you will) and they get inflamed and seemingly meet and then the roll of film is showed well rolling. Now this is not the first time I've seen this and I am probably the last person on earth to know this but I'm asking you is this how old projectors started. Is this the signifigance of them showing this? What exactly happened-wouldn't the hot sticks burn the film? I mean the sound sounds like a sizzle and then the rods change color and like I said the film starts rolling. Just what are they showing...thanks

Came across my copy of Lauren Bacall By Myself the original ( I thionk she wrote some more chapters tothis bookand it was made available recently) (this books copyright is 1978)- if you want this book it is yours free of charge( and please take it for your reading pleasure) just send your address and I'll mail it off to you. I will not share your info with anyone. Please fellow TCMers look at the orignal post alot of these books are still available. All except the book about Gable, Lombard, Powell and Harlow and A Summer Place. The Lauren Bacall book is hard cover with a dust jacket it is in good condition-just let me know.
  21. How about the Germans nipping at the heels of Bogart and Bergman esp. the remembering scenes while Sam plays the piano-man that was GREAT movie. Who are you and who were you before...
