Greetings fellow classics lovers! I am trying to find out the name to a WWII movie that I saw a while back. It was a Navy movie, and I believe most of the movie took part on a destroyer. The one key thing I remember is that there is a scene where the crew is firing at some target buoys, and while doing this, one of the crew members is trapped on a target while the shelling is occurring. This is all I can remember from the movie at this time, but if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Checked IMDb for "An Apartment for Peggy" and the plot is not the same as the movie I saw. The girl was already with a man (a former GI) when she went to the suicidal man's apartment in that movie. The movie that I saw had a young mother-to-be, but she was single, and met a man while staying at an apartment building or hotel. The young man worked there (possibly on the night shift - not sure), but the two of them fell in love. One of the main things I remember was that the two of them went to a park, and sat in a small fenced off area (I believe they did this twice - once in the middle of the movie, and once towards the end). I also remember that the man talked to his coworker about this woman, and I think he asked if he could leave early one time to go see her. I checked the movies starring Jane Bryan and Eddie Albert, and none of their movies matched the description. One thing about this movie, the woman was an expectant mother. She was staying in an older man's apartment while he was away. When the older man finds out, he is not angry, but rather decides to help the newly-wed couple. Thanks for all the help.

It was not a silent film. I am almost positive it was in the 30s, but may have been a decade up or down. It was in B&W. Hope that helps. Thanks for any info!

Greetings again fellow classics lovers! I am trying to find out the name of a movie I saw on TCM taking place in a large city during the 20's or the 30's. The movie involves a young lady meeting up with a man (possibly a cab driver) who accompanies the lady throughout the city one night. They travel all over the place, attending various events and visiting different places. I think at one point the two are separated and are trying to find one another. That is all that I can recall from the movie, and I know it is not a lot to go on, but any help would be very appreciated! Thanks and good day!

I am trying to remember the name to a movie I saw some time ago on TCM, but it will not come to me to save my life! The movie is about a young, single mother who is staying in a wealthy man's apartment building or hotel (while he is away) after meeting and falling for a bellhop who works there. I remember one of the key scenes in the movie was when the two young love birds went to the park, and entered a fenced-off area. It ended with the wealthy man returning and the couple catching a break from him some way or another. The movie is set in a large city, I am pretty sure it is New York City, in the 20's or 30's. I saw a movie some time back on TCM, but I cannot remember the title. The movie featured a hitman on the run from the law. He was a loner, and he loved cats. Towards the end of the movie, he is held up in a shack with the woman and a cat. The police have him trapped inside, and at one point, the cat is killed. He lets the woman go, and he is killed at the end. I really want to purchase a copy of this movie, as it is one of my personal favorites. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
