Don't know that particular Seinfeld episode, but I'm gonna need more than luck here. No one seems to know what movie this scene is from. I'm beginning to think it was probably a 1920's or 1930's movie. It's weird that no one has come forward to identify this movie either here or other places I have posted the question. I've researched and researched to no avail! I wish someone knew.....

Man?s cig burns down girlfriend?s/fiance?s parent?s house in 40?s comedy. Title? Unsolved. WHAT U.S.1940'S MOVIE COMEDY IS THIS SCENE IS FROM: Man (not rich) is visiting his girlfriend's/fiance's rich parent's home/mansion for the first time and wanting to make a good impression. He is smoking a cig. Before her parents enter the livingroom to meet him, he is informed that they hate people who smoke cigs. As the parents enter the room he panics and nervously shoves his lit-up cig into his jacket pocket and graciously introduces himself. Smoke is coming from his pocket. The next scene they are all outside watching the house go up in flames.
