  1. So sad to hear that Christopher Plummer has passed away.  He was a really wonderful and really amazing actor.  Wasn’t he and we all really loved him a whole lot.  Didn’t we and we’ll all really miss him a whole lot.  Won’t we?  He will always forever be remembered as Captain Von Trap in Rogers & Hammerstein’s The Sound Of Music.  A few years ago.  When it was the 50th Anniversary.  They showed it at the TCM Classic Film Festival and he and Julie Andrews both attended.  Remember?  I would have really loved to have met him.  If Julie Andrews attends again and depending on when I get to go.  I’ll still have a chance to meet her there sometime.  So he’s been in all kinds of movies.  Including made for TV movies right?  Remember when he was in Dragnet with Dan Akroyed and Tom Hanks?  He was the bad guy right and when he was the narrator for Madeline?  He’d also done Broadway right?  He was a really wonderful man.  Wasn’t he?  RIP Christopher.  We’ll all really miss you a whole lot and we all really love you a whole lot.  I’m sure there will be a tribute to him soon.  I’ll be tivoing and watching.

  2. You’re welcome.  Let me know when you’ve watched it and what you thought about it ok.  It’s on YouTube.  Just type it in.  Hit search and you’re all set.  It will either be from when it originally aired.  From when it was on Vault Disney on The Disney Channel or both.  Enjoy.  If you have any trouble?  Let me know.

  3. Hey TopBilled.  Like I said the other day.  You know how every now and then we’ve been talking about how we would really love to see Danny Kaye as SOTM sometime and I’ve mentioned this before.  I think somewhere on this board actually.  Did you ever see Kraft Salutes Disneyland’s 25th Anniversary from 1980 that he hosted?  With all the guest stars and stuff?  He was so good and that’s when I first saw him and got to know who he was.  I didn’t know his name at first.  But I thought.  This guy’s really good and at first I thought he was still alive.  But of course.  He died.  In 1987.  So if you haven’t seen this?  Watch it on YouTube.  It’s so fun.  I used to watch it on The Disney Channel as part of The Wonderful World Of Disney on Vault Disney.  Disney’s Wonderful World.  Now I watch it on YouTube from time to time.  He hosted a Walt Disney World special from Epcot too.  But I don’t think I’ve seen all of that yet though.  I will sometime.

  4. Oh.  So it will actually be a first time for you too ha?  So you’ll check it out too.  I think we’re going to love it and TopBilled?  Remember.  If there’s any kind of particular programming you would love to see here on TCM sometime?  Like the same programming as me or if you maybe come up with anything really creative?  Let me know and maybe you and I could start a thread together.  I really love it when we have the same ideas and same tastes and by the way.  I’m still hoping Rick Moranis could maybe come to TCM as a guest programmer sometime.  How about you and I’m still really looking forward to the new Honey I Shrunk The Kids with him returning to reprise his role as Professor Wayne Salinski and Josh Gads as an all grown up Nick Sallinski and I was thinking.  Maybe his brother Gordon Salinski from Honey We Shrunk Ourselves will be back too.  He was funny.  Wasn’t he and I may have mentioned this before.  Remember his appearances on Sesame Street?  Those were great too.  Weren’t they and someone also said he could have also been in the Honey I Shrunk The Snuffleoffigus episode too.  I think he would have also been great in that one too.  Wouldn’t he?  I’m also still really hoping for Danny Kaye as SOTM sometime too.

  5. Hey TopBilled.  How’s it going?  I was wondering.  Do you think they’ll still be having the virtual TCM Classic Film Festival this year?  Since 31 Days Of Oscar is now moved to April or now that I’ve thought about it the other day?  Maybe they’re actually talking about rescheduling that too.

  6. I just herd about Cicely Tyson’s passing on the news last night and thought oh no.  What are they going to do on Live tomorrow?  She was scheduled to be on Live With Kelly And Ryan this morning and they had actually taped today’s show on Wednesday.  So she was on.  Kelly had made an announcement at the very beginning.  It was great seeing her on.  She had just written and come out with a new book.  I’ll be getting it and she had just turned 96 years old last month.  This is too bad and so sad.  She was such a really wonderful actress.  Wasn’t she and I would have just loved to have met her at the TCM Classic Film Festival and on the TCM Classic Cruise and the movie Sounder.  Which they show here on TCM of course.  Including on The Essentials.  Great movie ha?  When will there be a tribute to her.  I’ll be watching.  She will surely be missed.  RIP Cicely.  We’ll all really miss you a whole lot and we all really love you a whole lot.

  7. I would also love to see Detective Story and

    The Matt Helm franchise again.

I know they’ve shown Detective Story at the TCM Classic Film Festival and maybe on the TCM Classic Cruise too.  That movie sounds great to me and it was so cool when they showed the Matt Helm franchise when Dino was SOTM the September before last.  Dino as a secret agent.  Whoa and they were all so funny too.  I’d love to see those again and as I’m typing this.  I also just had this thought.  I’m also hoping for a DVD and Blu-Ray box set release at the TCM Shop sometime.  I’d get it.

  8. I know it’s been on Broadway.  But was there also a movie of Anything Goes and has it ever been here on TCM and does everybody remember the opening of Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom where Willy Scott?  Played by Cate Capshaw?  Steven Spielberg’s wife is singing the title song from it?
