I think the breaks are cool. Maybe Ben takes breaks. Because it’s the TCM Podcast. It’s great. You get to hear everything that’s going on with TCM. Lately Ben’s been talking about this new season of The Essentials with Brad Bird. Sometimes they have different commercials. It’s also a great Podcast. I love it. The music’s great too.

I don’t think they’ve ever had a theme for three months before. But that’s fine. This will be great. All of TCM’s programming is great.

Great. Thank you. I listened to the whole first season and the first two bonus episodes directly on the homepage. Then I subscribed to it in the Podcasts app and listened to the last bonus episode in the Podcasts app. I also signed up for the Plot Thickens Podcast newsletter too.

How do you rate and write a review on this?

Nice typing and singing. I love this song too. It’s one of my favorites. I love the movie too. The movie’s one of my favorites too and Gene Wilder was a really wonderful actor too. Wasn’t he? When I went to New York a few years ago. For my very first time ever. I saw Charlie And The Chocolate Factory The Broadway Musical on Broadway. Right when it first came to Broadway too. Brand new. It was fantastic. The whole cast was so wonderful and so amazing. Especially the guy who played Willy Wonka and the guy who played Grandpa Joe and Jack Albertson who played Grandpa Joe in the movie. As we all know. Was actually a very good friend of his and he was another really wonderful actor too. Wasn’t he? The whole cast was great. The scenery was great. The sets were great. The music was great and we got great seats too. Second row. It was quite an experience. I had a blast. I just loved it. The Original Broadway Cast and everything. I’ve got the CD too. You could check out the Original Broadway Cast on Good Morning America on YouTube. Enjoy. So they actually haven’t shown the movie here on TCM since 2004 ha? Maybe we could start requesting it and maybe they’ll show it again sometime. I would love to see it here on TCM.

I was thinking earlier today. You know the advertisement where Ben’s standing by the swimming pool? Talking about all the fans? I think it’s the pool at the Hollywood Rosevelt actually. I’m guessing. Of course they’ve shown some Gene Wilder movies from time to time. Including some Mel Brooks movies he’s been in. You know how they show some parts of some movies while he’s talking and Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory is one of them? Well. I was wondering. Have they ever actually shown Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory on here? My guess is yes. Probably like once or twice or something.

We all know Peacock’s got all kinds of NBC shows. Do you think Johnny Carson’s on there too?

I know it’s a little early and of course. People do talk about the phrase Christmas In July once in a while. I’m sure you’ve all seen Babes In Toyland from 1986 with Drew Barrymore. Keanu Reeves. Whoever was Lisa’s mother and Old Mother Hubered. Richard Mulligan. Who I just mentioned on the Star Of The Month board recently and Pat Marita? It’s a great Christmas movie. A classic and one of my favorites. You know at the beginning where Jack and George are taking Lisa and Mary home and their singing Cincinnati and something falls and Lisa falls out of Jack’s jeep and bumps into a tree on her sled and lands in Toyland? It was a dream right or not? I’ve been watching parts of this on YouTube and now that I think about it? Maybe it would be perfect for the Christmas Classics theme on here this year or for Free Form’s 25 Days Of Christmas on Free Form this year.

I posted about The Pack Podcast on the Off Topic Chit Chat board yesterday. Anyone know where it is?

For those of you who listen to Podcasts. Has anyone ever herd of a podcast called The Pack? With the stars and stuff? Like Blair Underwood? Who’s the Free Form Santa. Host of Free Form’s Kickoff To Christmas and 25 Days Of Christmas On Free Form by the way. He does a really wonderful and amazing job too. I love him and both events. If they have him back this year? It will be his third year and third time hosting. I hope they have him back this year. Anyway. That’s him. The podcast also has Cherry Shepherd. I think. George Wednt from Cheers. All kinds of people. They have comedy stories and stuff. I think it was on Broadway. Then it also became a podcast. They’re doing it from home. I just subscribed to all kinds of different podcasts in the podcasts app. So does anyone know what the Pack one looks like? The picture I mean. I just want to make sure it’s the right one before I subscribe. Thank you.

Cool. Do you think it’s on YouTube?

I just listened to the two bonus episodes. The one with Howard Hawks Monday night and the one with Alfred Hitchcock last night. Now I’m all done with it till next season and I’ll be keeping an eye for more bonus episodes too. Hearing Howard Hawks was cool. He had a deep voice. He’s dead right? They talked about all kinds of his movies. Including Bringing Up Baby with Carey Grant and Katherine Hepburn. One of my favorites. Very funny movie. The one with Alfred Hitchcock was cool too. I was really looking forward to that one. I’ve always wondered what it would have been like to meet Alfred Hitchcock. So did you guys like it? I did and does anyone know how often that email sign up pops up on the homepage? I would like to sign up to be notified.

Had Carl Reiner and he and Mel Brooks ever made any talk show appearances together? I remember when Carl Reiner was on Ellen and I just saw a part of when he and Mel Brooks were on. I think the News Hour with Charles what’s his name on KQED Channel 9. PBS on YouTube and a part of when Carl Reiner was on Late Night With Conan O Brian also on YouTube. So those count. But had he or both of them together ever made any talk show appearances besides on those three?

Whoa. Cool.

I was just thinking that Richard Mulligan would also make a great star of the month sometime too. He was great as the bad guy Barnabe Barnicle in 1986’s Babes In Toyland with Drew Barrymore. Keanu Reeves. Ilean Dennon and Pat Marita and it’s one of my favorite Christmas movies too. He’s also from TV’s Empty Nest. He guest starred on The Love Boat and I think he also guest starred on a Christmas episode of The Twilight Zone too and he was another really wonderful actor too. Wasn’t he? So I think he’d be a great star of the month.

The other day. When I was on the The Plot Thickens I’m Still Peter Bogdanovich Podcast homepage? I think there was also a pop up email sign up or whatever. Where you could sign up to be notified about the Podcast. Is it still there and when you subscribe to it? What happens when you hit subscribe? Is there anything you have to fill out?

Yeah. That’s the one I was thinking of. Rob and Laura are on their honeymoon. About to go to a play. Laura has to use the bathroom before they leave and gets locked in. Rob tries to unlock it. But can’t. So he ends up shooting the door handle. Gets Laura out and laughs about her getting her toe stuck in the bathtub and goes. You look so funny. Yep. It was funny and how about the one where Rob invites Buddy to stay with them and he’s really picky about the way he wants his eggs. He keeps complaining about all of Laura’s options and says he makes great Eggs Benedict and they get all messy and all over the walls and Rob goes something like. Buddy? Why don’t you admit you don’t know how to make Eggs Benedict? I laughed so hard. That’s another really funny one too. Isn’t it?

When I went down below to the sneak peak of this month’s TCM Now Playing Guide email in last month’s TCM Now Playing Guide email and saw that Tony Curtis was going to be Star Of The Month this month. I was so excited. He’ll be a great one. He’s another great one. Remember when he guest starred on America’s Funniest Home Videos when Bob Saget hosted and he tied him and did a magic trick? It was funny and when he was the voice of himself as Stoney Curtis on The Flintstones? That was great too. So this will be fun.

I think some of my favorite episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show are It May Look Like A Walnut. The one where Rob and Laura first meet and perform You Wonderful You on stage. The one where Rob invites Buddy to stay at their house. Talk To The Snail. The one where Laura tries to die her hair blonde. The one where Rob and Laura get stuck in the bathroom at the hotel and wasn’t there one where Rob and Laura decide to elope? I love them all. Great classic TV show. One of my all time favorites.

I’ll keep hoping for Danny Kaye. But if not Danny Kaye this September? Either
Charlton Heston.
John Wayne.
Dustin Hoffman
Dean Martin again or
Jack Lemon. If it’s John Wayne? I’ll get to catch up on all his movies I missed last time he was SOTM for five days or whatever it was. If it’s Dustin Hoffman? I loved it when they showed Hook here on TCM last summer when they had him for SUTS. If it’s Dean Martin again? Maybe they’ll show the Matt Helm franchise again. Those were great. Jack Lemon would be great too and Charlton Heston is one of the all time greats. I missed him when they had him for SUTS a few years ago. So if it’s Charlton Heston? I’ll get to catch up on a whole bunch of his movies too. My first choice is Danny Kaye. I know most of his films are out of the TCM library. But I’ll still keep hoping. Because he would be a really great SOTM. He’s great.

Danny Kaye. Pretty please with sugar on top.

I just found it on the Podcasts app two days ago. It’s the one with the microphone. Thank you. Has anyone listened to it yet? I think it will be great. The whole cast. Especially Blair Underwood. I love him. Like I’ve been saying. He’s Free Form Santa. The host of Free Form’s Kickoff To Christmas and 25 Days Of Christmas. I hope they have him back to host again this year too. I’ll be watching. He’s a great host as Free Form Santa. I love Free Form’s Kickoff To Christmas and 25 Days Of Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love it.
