  4. Well said. I am very grateful to TCM for showing the Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy films in prime time, and also that they showed their solo effects as well. We where also happy to see that fine cover of our stars from their great film Maytime.

  6. Some very good points where used there. I believe Nelson and Jeanette also worked on early tv shows like thr Patti Page show up until 1957. I am not pleased with Mr Turk's book, he left out many interesting things about Nelson and Jeanette, for instance they did a number of shows on the radio, and from eye witness reports really enjoyed working together. This was AFTER their films. The early Patti Page show tapes have since vanished.
  7. I see at Sharon's website they are having a sale on a number of items for those who wish to learn more. The magazines are rather good.
  8. I for one think Jeanette did love Nelson, BUT so did Gene, as I have said, a lot of folks loved her. She was a wonderful person as well as a great performer. It is sad that there is so much hate out there. I hope next week Mr Osbourne will show her good side and not just make mean comments. She did help a lot of folks, during the war she gave a ton of money away for the effort. After the way she helped a lot of children's groups.
  9. Sad the way folks hate Jeanette for not marrying Nelson. If she gave up her career we would not have any great films. Message was edited by: jeanettefan Message was edited by: jeanettefan
  10. I love the films with Maurice as well. Did you ever see Monte Carlo? Jeanette singing 'beyond the blue horizon' is stunning. Message was edited by: jeanettefan
  11. I dont find it hard to believe that Nels loved Jam, after all she did help him soooo much. She was kind and lovely, they shared so much, they worked together for years after their films.I think a lot of men loved jeanette, not just Gene.look at Ernst and LB Mayer,so why not Nelson too. I enjoy ALL their works, they helped so many people.while I do not agree with everything Sharon wrote. A lot of folks dismiss Jeanette's hard work, she has helped many generations of singers and actors.Lew Awyres and Ethel Waters both loved her, the same goes true for Nelson,he was heartbroken when she passed away,th
