  1. Hello all, a friend of mine asked me the other day if I knew the title of a movie she saw years ago. It is not familiar to me but now I want to know what it is too! Here is the info she gave me:

    {font:'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif}A man takes a holiday at a house for two weeks every summer and meets a lady there, they do this for thirty yrs or so he has a family kids etc but he still takes this same holiday. At the end he dies and didnt come back that last summer so she knew he passed away. Etc etc. anyway I want to say it was Rock Hudson or Cary Grant when they were older, were in it the lady was older too blond short not model like. It's driving me crazy. She always used to call him mr.???{font}

    I thought maybe In Name Only or Brief Encounter but those weren't it. She said it was in color, maybe from the 50's or 60's.

    Thank you!

  2. To Path40a:

    I found the following information on the feedback section:

    "Turner Entertainment owns the complete MGM, Warner Brothers, and RKO libraries and can lease some of the finest films from the other major studios (including Paramount, Columbia, and Universal)."

    I requested several Cary Grant movies and then saw a post from someone complaining that people were requesting movies that TCM doesn't have in their library, but then I found the above info. It turns out that the movies I requested were from the studios TCM leases from. So all is not lost if the movie is not in the TCM library. Good luck with your requests!

  3. I should probably move this over to the General Discussion board but...some one should put together a drink recipe book of drinks from classic movies. There would be a lot to choose from! When I read the original post it made me think of a drink that was ordered in "The Bishop's Wife". It stuck out in my mind because I thought it odd for an Angel to order a stinger. I think that was the drink.

  4. I don't know why they don't release all of them myself. Maybe they want the votes to make sure the DVDs will sell. Although I don't think the vote is necessary, they will sell...all of them. There are very few current movies that I buy, but I buy the classics all the time and would buy more if they were available in widescreen on DVD.

  5. Ah, that's it!! This movie has "haunted" me since I saw it as a teen. I just assumed it was much older because it was B/W but I found it on the internet and it was made in 1967. I am glad someone out there knew what I was talking about!

  6. Thank you very much for the information. I think every movie I requested is from Columbia and I found something on the "Feedback" page that TCM does lease from them. Now I don't feel guilty for requesting non-TCM movies and "clogging" up the Suggest-a-Movie bulletin board.

  7. OK, I am one of the people who has been requesting movies TCM does not have. I just found out about the TCM Library. I am confused about the Library though, I looked up a movie and it was not listed. However, when I looked up the same movie (Duel in the Sun) on the schedule it was there. So does TCM have access to movies other than what they posses in their own library?

  8. I saw a B/W horror movie about a man that was part bird, but I don't know the name of it or who starred in it. The man was killing people for some reason. He would fly to thier window, at night, and tap on the glass and when they came to the window he would kill them. When he wasn't out murdering people he wore a long coat to hide his wings and had to walk with a cane because his bird feet had to be crammed into his shoes. I saw this movie over 20 years ago but it had to be a classic even then. Does anyone have any idea??
