  1. I agree with you that movies words and action mean a lot. But in Hitchcock films it is all vision for me. And then the words.
  2. I think both films from the very beginning get you ready for something different. You know when the pleasure garden opens you see a sign telling us "sit back and enjoy" and the to-night golden curls you see a lady screaming for her dear life. I like the way he changed the color of the film from black and white to brown. The guy that was making fun of what the witness was telling the police and then she looks up and sees the murder, but it was the guy making fun of what she said.
  3. Yes you can see the Hitchcock touch when the film opens. One thing I liked is when you see the sign no smoking and what do you see the owner doing but smoking a cigar. And I do agree with Strauss that you will see a lot more of this in Hitchcock films. There was no limitation in the opening scene
  4. My favorite five Hitchcock movies are 1.Stranger on a train 2. Dial M for Murder 3. Vertigo 4. The Lodger 5. Shadow of a doubt
  5. just would like to say this is my first time here and I am very happy to be here I am a very big Film Noir fan
