  1. You're welcome. I started watching TCM while trying to find something interesting to watch back in February/March of this year, and having to sift through all the fake "reality" drivel that seems to have infested every channel. I happened to catch the Jean Harlow bio with Sharon Stone as part of a Harlow marathon and then started watching the movie that followed. Then I saw 'Blackwell's Island' sometime after that, and I was hooked. To me, the early talkies and the stuff in the thirties (and even early forties) are very important historically and I think they should be available for people to have the opportunity to see, ESPECIALLY if they are not readily available on DVD or VHS. I love the B-movies on TCM just as much for the same reason.

I'm grateful for what TCM does too, but I don't want to see them end up like AMC or Bravo, or even just ignoring the early stuff we like. I know others on these forums have expressed the same concern.

I caught that string of rare oldies too. That was great!

  2. I agree 100% with dredagain. What's the point of showing something like 'Random Harvest' OVER and OVER and OVER again when there are so many rare gems from the late 20s and early to mid-30s. I mean, I love "newer" films such as 'Where Eagles Dare' and 'Kelly's Heroes', but why show them two or three times over the course of the summer when movies like that are available on VHS or DVD for rental or purchase?
