I'm forever mixing up Robert Young and Robert Montgomery!

Do you have any idea when (year/decade) this movie was made?

Hi-
I just did a couple of "keyword" searches of plots contained in the Internet Movie Database online. There are a ton of possible matches but none that fit perfectly (according to what you wrote).
One thing that would help is if we knew what decade you think the movie is from. At least that way we can eliminate, for example, all films released after 1970.

I appreciate your help in tracking down this film! I suppose I should confess that I'm doing this search for my aunt-I've never actually seen the movie myself. I know the details are vague...I'll get in touch with her again to see if she remembers any more details! Thanks!

I'm looking for the title to a movie that I saw back in the 50's. It takes place in Europe during a war and tells the story of a boy who loses his hearing and then travels to America. Somehow, due to a miracle, his hearing returns and the first sound he hears is of ringing church bells.
Does anyone recognize this film? I've done many plot searches on IMDB and other web sites, but haven't found anything. Could you help?

Please help me, fellow TCM fans! I am looking for the name of a movie with the following plot line...I apologize in advance for my terrible description, but hope that maybe it will jog one of your great trivia minds!

A woman is either waiting to meet someone or crying on a secluded island, but while waiting for him, a storm erupts and high tide covers the island. The woman is forced to seek high ground inside a tunnel in a massive cliff. She climbs this cliff and barely makes it to the top. A community of nuns (or monks?) live at the top of the cliff and help to restore her to health after her ordeal.
I thought this movie was Green Dolphin Street, because the convent on the cliff reminded me of the one in my memory. I wasn't able to watch the whole movie tonight (family emergency pulled me away from the t.v.) so I'm afraid I might have missed the one part I WANTED to see. Was Donna Reed's character the woman who climbed the tunnel into the convent? Please help!

Hello all-
I've only recently discovered this forum and have been impressed that TCMprogrammer actually reads these boards. I thought that maybe I could ask a question and also get some response from other movie fans.
10-15 years ago I saw the film, "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" on either AMC (back when they were good!) or TCM. Can't be precise on the date except that I know it was between my 9th-11th grade (always been a classic movie fan...what can I say, my parents raised me right!). I soon after discovered the book by Cornelia Otis Skinner in the local library and LOVED it...I quickly read the sequel too and so began a love of reading the books that inspired so many of my favorite movies (Auntie Mame, Cheaper by the Dozen, African Queen, Goodbye Mr. Chips, etc.).
My question for TCMprogrammer...could TCM possibly show "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" in the future? I've tried to do my homework to discover who owns the rights to that film, but I'm a novice at that sort of research.
My question for my fellow movie fans...what's your favorite book to movie? Gone with the Wind, To Kill a Mockingbird, Wizard of Oz, etc?
I'll close now, but just want to say how thankful I am for TCM and the way their programming has helped to shape a lifelong love/interest in classic movies. Growing up I used to dream of working for AMC/TCM...watching old movies all day long seemed like a pretty good job! Since that dream didn't pan out, I now watch TCM whenever I can (sadly, I married a man with no appreciation for classic films so that's not as non-stop as it used to be!!) and read what I can find on classic films/actors/actresses.
Looking forward to hearing from you all
