Thanks to those who replied to my question. I think you guys are probably right that b&w was used because it was the cheaper of the two. That thought never crossed my mind. Oops. Setting the time and mood of the film was my guess.
Can someone tell me why black and white films were still being made in sixties when color films were being made for a long time? Tonight I am enjoying "Lord of the Flies" and just wonder why not color. Thanks for any insight that can be offered.
