I am new here but not to TCM (my FAVORITE movie channel)
I have a few questions and comments regarding colorized movies. Please keep in mind that I know little about them at this point. As I remember it; years ago Mr. Turner decided to colorize some films, did so, and in the process there was quite a public stink made. I had no problem with it and still do not as long as the originals are preserved. To me it just results in two version. After all, the sets and costumes were all in elaborate color even for a B/W movie and it seems a shame to see that all the beautiful colors have gone to waste. Just to touch on the "touchy" situation regarding the "art" of B/W---all the values (black to gray to white) originate from the original colors and the ways in which light reflected off of them so they are, in fact, preserved even when colorized.
I am looking for a list of what films were colorized and if and when they are shown on TCM and/or anywhere. I have searched this site but found nothing. So, if you can help please post your information.
