Thanks for posting this one, Wendy!

As I recall, the documentary mentioned that Vargas had met her and later made the picture from memory. That is not to say that it couldn't be Olive Borden. I'll have to watch the documentrary again.

You're welcome, Metry!
I don't know about others here, but I find Hawaiian music very enjoyable.
Here are a couple of favorite Hawaiin performers:
Kalama's Quartet:
Sol K, Bright's Hollywaiians:

The only known movie footage of Bix Beiferbecke (from a 1928 Movietone newsreel with Paul Whitman's Orchestra.) you can see him stand and play at the 1:10 mark

I'll add these to the "body count"
KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS (1949)
A SLIGHT CASE OF MURDER (1938)
THE GAY BRIDE (1934)

I was not familiar with that song by the Foremost, I had heard "A Little Loving" by them...
Another obscue one from that same time...

Harold Lloyd's delightful film, THE KID BROTHER will be screend at UCLA with Carl Davis conducting the L.A. Chamber Orchestra, on May 20th. The orchestra will be performing a score Davis wrote for this film. The L.A. Chamber Orchestra has been putting on this event for the past 23 years and is always a fun event. Live music and classic films, a winning combination!
If you are in the L.A. area, I highly recommend getting tickets for this event, it should be great fun!

MANTRAP is on the Treasures boxed set with Paramount's permission.
The same situation applies to REDSKIN on an earlier Treasures set.
I am glad at least that these archives that make up the Treasures series have been successful in getting Paramount to license some of their silent stuff. Who knows what may appear in the nest edition of Treasures From The Archives?

A Susan Hayward day during SUTS would be cool! B-)

I haven't seen all of her Paramount talkies yet, but so far my favorite Paramount Bow talkie is
NO LIMIT (1931). She seemed a bit more relaxed in that one

Like that Sinatra version too. Good choice!
Yes, I thought about using "When The Moon Comes Over The Mountain", but I thought it was a little too obvious. "Makin' Faces At The Man In The Moon" was the flip side on the 78 rpm issue of "When The Moon Comes Over The Mountain" when it was first issued in 1931.

Wanted to add one more moon song:
Ethel Waters:
-
Yes, Marvin Harley and LeRoy Shield wrote some great music for the hal Roach studio.

Especially if you had said, "No Ben. No Peace!"
