Those are excellent tracks! Here's another Los Lobos favorite of mine.

...And THE GREAT RUPERT (1950).
-
It's from 1987. I was looking through my CDs the other day, and ran across this song. I forgot how good it was.

NO MAN OF HER OWN and HOT SATURDAY are both available on DVD. HOT SATURDAY was part of a Pre-code set that Unversal put out a few years ago.

My top ten today (this will no doubt change again in the future): 1. SUNRISE (1927) 2. CITY LIGHTS (1931) 3. UNFORGIVEN (1992) 4. FIVE STAR FINAL (1931) 5. THE BITTER TEA OF GENERAL YEN (1933) 6. IKIRU (1952) 7. DOGMA (1999) 8. SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS (1941) 9. THE GHOST & MRS. MUIR (1947) 10. THE LIFE OF BRIAN (1979)

I read the header and thought that TCM had made a deal with Disney to show Goofy cartoons in April. Dammit!

How about some French art? "The Swan"

Since Universal also holds most of the pre 1949 Paramount talkies, perhaps they could also celebrate Paramount's centennial with a few rare titles from that library as well.

The Mamas and The Papas: "I Call Your Name"

I've seen FLORADORA GIRL before. It's not bad, a bit slow in spots (typical of early talkie productions), the finale was shot in two color Technicolor.
-
Saw it New Year's Day. It was a terrific film!
-
CHRISTOPHER BEAN (1933) is another held up with rights issues. I thnk that THE SILVER CORD (RKO,1933) may also be tied up. I haven't seen it broadcast since the late 1980s.

Happy New Year!

In keeping with the party theme: B-52's: "Party Out Of Bounds"

Thanks for posting the blog link. I have a copy of the Keaton locations book and have enjoyed it very much. I look forward to getting a copy of the Harold Lloyd book now. -
Couldn't Pepe Le Pew be considered a pole cat (perhaps even a lonesome one a that)?

Once in Royal David's City is a favorite of mine, thanks for posting! Norman Luboff Choir, "O Come Little Children":

I enjoy both versions, but I do have a preference for the 1925 version. As Fred pointed out, the color tints are excellent and so are the two color Technicolor inserts. I love Carl Davis score it's terrific.

A really cool version of "Jingle Bells" by Fred Waring. It's very creative musically, it takes this song through several musical styles. It's one of my favorite versions of this old song.

I saw HUGO Saturday and loved it! It was a nice bit of "Film History 101". Kudos to Scorsese!
