I'm looking for a movie title..and I can't remember the stars of the movie..but it was a b&w film, drama/romance. a girl was sent to live with a family, b/c her parents were killed. She was sent to live w/ a friend of her fathers. He had 2 or 3 sons and a housekeeper..as the girl grew up, one of the sons had left for war I think, and comes home..they fall in love, and at the very end he has the housekeeper give her a message to meet him at the docks..the housekeeper doesn't like her, and doesn't give her the message or maybe it was a letter..anyhow, the girl finds out, and goes to find him..and I never saw the ending!!

Help!! I saw a movie about nine years ago, which I loved. I just don't know the name of it or who was in it. Here's a general description. A girl's parents had just died and she was sent to live with her father's friend. She arrived in the middle of the night. The friend had 2 or three sons and a housekeeper, but I don't remember a wife. The girl grows up here and one of the sons either left for war of school. When he comes back the girl is all grown up and they fall in love. He gives the housekeeper a message to give to the girl at a party but she hates the girl and doesn't give it to her. He was asking her to meet him at the dock before he leaves again. I think somehow she found out and was trying to get to him..but I never saw the ending..It was a real tear jerker, b/c I remember crying non-stop towards the end..Does anyone know the name of this movie?
