  1. Yes, all the movies are uncut and without commercials.
  2. That is my favorite TCM commercial. I love the way that it was edited and the song is great. I was familiar with the song already and I actually disliked the it till I saw that commercial. Now it is a favorite!
  3. Sounds like Jezebel to me. Bette was great in that movie.
  4. Hey Gary, I have never seen this movie on dvd or tape. I actually taped it when it came on originally. I still have it on tape. Not even sure what condition it is in. I have not watched it in a long time. Guess I should pull it out and watch it. I love Marlo Thomas. Btw, I did a quick search on the internet and couldn't find it available anywhere.
  5. Hello, first I would look at the dvd. Does it have scratches or finger prints on the playing side of the disc. They scratch a lot easier than people think. If dirty take a damp lint free cloth and wipe. Be careful in using paper towels, many will leave little scratches. There are products you can buy to clean them with as well. Also products to help with scratches. If the disc looks clean and scratch free, I would try a different brand of blank dvd's. You should store them in the plastic disc cases. The ones for cd's work great. You can get a box of 100 for around $10.00 at Staples. If you p
  6. Penmark, I agree that Halle Berry line is horrible. You just stop for a second and expect something great and then you go "what was that?". Just terrible. Another bad line is from the current Oscar nominee Crash. Don Cheadle says....."I think that we miss the sense of touch so much that we just crash into each other." Stupid. LOL. There must be a lot of people here in Atlanta needing to be touched, because there are wrecks all the time.
  7. Slagman, Just as Vallo pointed out, most dvd players have zoom options to fill the screen up if you like it that way. Many tv's also have the option of zoom or aspect as it is called sometimes. So, check and be sure that it is not an option on your tv. If it is not, perhaps check around for a 27' tv that has that option. They make them and generally are not expensive. That way you can fill your screen with picture. Of course you do lose a portion of it off that sides, but you will be able to see who is riding the horse.
  8. I do like them both, but to compare them is hard. It like comparing 2 same model cars, one has the standard package, the other one is the top of the line. They both drive the same, but you like the one with all the extras. Joan Crawford definitely had all the extras. Even in her worst film (Trog), you can tell she is still giving it her all and trying to make the best of a bad script. So many of her movies are so great! Also, someone earlier said she didn't ever do comedic/light roles obviously hasn't seen all of her movies. Joan rules!!!!
  9. Actually Barbara Stanwyck was very good in many of her movies. My favorite being No Man of Her Own. She and the movie as a whole are excellent. If you get a chance to ever see it, I truly recommend it. I recently re-acquired my copy from a friend, that had mine. He had for about 4 years, so I was very excited to get it back! Showed it to other friends that loved it as well.
  10. Actually Bollywood 101 The name of the movie with David Carradine and Sly Stallone is Death Race 2000 (1975). It was recently released in a special edition. This was a great B movie from the drive in days. I agree, Paul Bartel has such a strange sense of humor. I enjoy him and Mary Wornov always.

  12. From the early films(Our Dancing Daughters,Rain,Today We Live)to the late 30's & 40"s films(The Women, Mildred Pierce, A Woman's Face, Susan & God) to the 50's films(Damn Don't Cry, Queen Bee, Sudden Fear, Story of Esther Costello) to the horror movies of the 60's(Straight Jacket, Whatever Happen To Baby Jane), Joan Crawford is the best. She was the prettiest,a great actress and a star! I have never watched a JC film and not been entertained. Many of Bette's movies are just bad. Don't get me wrong, I do love Bette as well. I have easily seen at half of Joan's movies, but probably close
  13. Hey thanks for the replies! I went to Ebay and bid on the movie. I bid up to 28.00, but have been outbid. Not sure that I want to pay more than that for it. I have a feeling that it is a copy and not an original. Not wanting to pay that much for an bad tape. Plus I think I was bidding against a Barbara Stanwyck fanatic. So, I have a feeling that it would have gone much higher. I guess I will keep looking and hope that TCM shows it soon. Thanks for letting me know. All info is greatly appreciated!
  14. I am trying to locate anyone that may have a copy of this movie. This is the 1950 Barbara Stanwyck movie. This one was later remade into Mrs. Winterbourne. This one does not have Clark Gable or Carole Lombard in it.I have been trying for years to find a copy. It hasn't been shown on television in a while. Atleast I haven't been able to find it. Any help would be appreciated. There is a group of us looking for a copy. Thanks!
