I can't remember the name of a movie starring Carey Grant. Here's what I remember from the film.
1. Myrna Loy starred as his wife.
2. Carey Grant played a college orchestra/choral conductor.
3. The same person who played Uncle Billy with Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life" was also in the movie.
4. On the top floor of their house there was a gigantic train set (O-27 gauge, I think) which ran from the hall into and out of three bedrooms. There were numerous rail switches in the hall.
5. Carey Grant, "Uncle Billy" and another actor would each take their places in the bedrooms and send vocal signals to each other as to whose train was to pass through the switches in the hall and travel into an adjacent bedroom.
6. One person's signal was "Beep", the second's was "Beep-Beep" and the third was (you guessed it) "Beep-Beep-Beep".
7. Everything was going fine until they all got confused about their signals. The next thing you hear is a loud train crash followed by a heated argument.
8. Your signal was "Beep"!. No, my signal was "Beep-Beep"! No, his signal was "Beep-Beep-"! Your signal was "Beep-Beep-Beep"! Ad Nauseum!
9. Amidst all of this, Myrna Loy gets increasingly frustrated about having to step over all the train tracks and cars and switches.
That's all I can remember. The "Beep-Beep-Beep" routine reminds me of "Foot", "Foot-Foot" and "Foot-Foot-Foot".
Please help. Thanks very much.
