  3. Does anyone here subscribe to Classic Images? I'm thinking of subscribing myself and I wanted to know what someone who already has it thinks. Does it have glossy pages or newsprint? Are the stories interesting and fairly accurate? Good pictures? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Arghhhh...did anyone happen to record Merrily We Live on Aug. 30? I had to work that night and had set my recorder but for some reason, TCM changed the order of the lineup (apparently at the last minute) and I missed the movie. It was scheduled to air at 1am (I think) but a friend told me the movie actually came on in the 11 o'clock hour. Such a rare classic...I hate I missed it. Does anyone know if this movie has been released on VHS or DVD?
  5. I was going to guess Cheaper by the Dozen, which also fit the clues. In this movie the daughter "goes wild" by bobbing her hair and demanding to go to the school dance without a chaperone! That's quite a bit tamer than Splendor.
  6. Can I have another guess? Lew Ayres.
  7. Can anyone at TCM tell me why we aren't seeing the Randolph Scott westerns made at Warner Brothers; Are they not in the library( are there liscensing problems?). Films such as 'Sugerfoot' 1951,'Fort Worth' 1951,'Thunder Over The Plains'1953, and especially the-long-time-not seen 'The Bounty Hunter'1954 and '7 Men From Now"1956. I have noticed several omissions from the TCM library over the years for films we assumed were in the package;Yes, of course some films are lost or "missing" but certain titles (known to exist) are not available to TCM. Can you enlighten us? Thanks. Johnny Brau
  8. Glad that I could help. Enjoy that 65-degrees and foggy weather we've been having? Gee, thanks! I hope this post doesn't replicate itself a bunch of times like the last one. I only hit the button once, honest!
  9. Now that TCM is airing the 1968 Yvonne DeCarlo, George Hamilton, Susan Pleshette, et. al. film, The Power, on November 4, 2005, can someone tell me where to buy the DVD or VHS. A reviewer at Internet Movie DataBase said that he bought it from an obscure Canadian company but he did not say which one. Since TCM has access to the film, maybe TCM knows where it was released on VHS or can find out.
  10. Thank you. Any idea if he accepts/replies to mail?
  11. Oh, I forgot to include the man whom I think is the most versatile and commanding male actor alive today ---- JEFFREY WRIGHT ---- Made for TV "Boycott" portraying Dr. M.L.King, Jr.; the character of "Peoples" in the Samuel Jackson, "Shaft"; the young man dying of AIDS in HBO's "Angels in America"; Bill Murray's next store neighbor in "Broken Flowers", (an awful film). He has yet to breakthrough...

  16. As far as I know, The Lisbon Story is not available. I think it may be a lost film. However, it still could be possible that you saw it on TV 20 years ago.
