Was it Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster or someone else, that took off his shirt (in a movie scene) and didn't have a t-shirt underneath, in which t-shirt sales fell?

All I know is that Ninon Sevilla is Cuban and was a Rumba Dancer or Vedette in the 40s and 50s. I hope I helped you a little.

Bravo for TCM
and the Golden Age of Mexican Films.
It reminded me of conversations with my mom, when she used to talk about the Greats, like Pedro Armendariz, Pedro Infante , Gloria Marin,Maria Felix and the great Cantinflas and Tin Tan. Wonderful Films!
Thank you

Hi dkny1177, I don't believe it is on VHS. I did a quick search right now to see if it turned up at the usual places (such as amazon) and other than on a couple lists containing filmographies for Miss Ball there were no leads.
If I find out differently I'll post back to let you know.

TCM will be airing "The World, The Flesh And The Devil" June 22 at 2:15 A.M. About a black man, a white woman and a racist, whom are the only people left alive after a nuclear disaster. It stars Harry Belafonte, Inger Stevens and Mel Ferrer as the racist. Pretty good flick, I've had this on tape for quite some time and watch it about twice a year.

I noticed, what looks like a synchronization problem also, several weeks ago... i.e. Osborne's speech/mouth.
I'm interested in what new filming technique is being used, as opposed to earlier recorded presentations.
There's a too obvious delay, which is disconcerting, to say the least.
Hello, TMC??? Hello???

I recently watched Aventurera and was fascinated by this actress, I have been trying to find out more about her and other movies she has appeared in, but with no success. Can anyone help me?

Hi All,
The first movie I can remember clearly was Bambi. I remember crawling into my mom's lap and crying at the Civic Center where they would show movies before VHS/DVD. I probably was around five years old. I also remember The Wizard Of OZ. We would watch this movie every Thanksgiving...and still do.

Just in case anyone is interested here is the letter that I sent to Betty and I meant every word of it!
April 25, 2005
Dear Ms. Hutton,
As a life long fan of yours, I wanted to write to you to express my thanks for your contribution to America in your films and recordings. My handwriting is terrible, so I must resort to this computer so that my letter is readable. My apologies.
Recently I purchased a copy of the movie ?Annie Get Your Gun? along with a CD of the movie soundtrack. I had not seen this musical in many years. In the past two months I have viewed it at least a dozen times. For many years the movie was simply unavailable and was seldom shown on television. Your performance is simply marvelous! I cannot tell you how much I enjoy the movie and the music. My favorite number is ?Doin? What Comes Naturally?. It is sad these days, when I cannot purchase a current movie and show it in my home without risk of embarrassment from inappropriate language or visuals. That is why the older movies are such a treasure. Annie Get Your Gun is timeless. It is as enjoyable today as it was 55 years ago.
At 56, I am no longer a youngster and my four daughters are now nearly grown. As we recently watched the movie together, I was asked about the lady was who played Annie. Proudly, I told them about you and the movie. The fact that today?s younger generation finds entertainment in a movie from a previous generation is a testament to the timelessness and quality of the entertainment. Thanks to performers like yourself, we have these wonderful works from the past at a time when we need a little happiness, a little light heartedness, a little fun, and just pure quality entertainment.
I am relieved that I am finally able to thank you for your contribution to American cinema and music. Sadly, we don?t see much happiness in movies anymore, and nobody wants to do a musical. I don?t see any more Irving Berlins out there either. That?s why I appreciate movies like Annie Get Your Gun.
Thank you Betty Hutton!

While searching for information about my friend Linda, I came across this post from classicsfan1119; Linda Martinez, the first woman to win the competition, and who wrote a beautiful score for "The Rag Man". Linda was a talented and gifted composer and sadly took her own life. She died at her home May 19, 2005.

This sounds GREAT, but I don't see "When Worlds Collide" in this line up - bummer!!

I agree with you on his dancing. You didn't mention his singing. Good at that also. As for his clothes you must remember the year. Singing in the rain was one of his better movies. In those days the studio made all, and I mean all the decisions as to plot, costumes, music and anything else you might think of. So give the guy a break on his wardrobe, o.k.

this commercial for 'future shock" kind of freaked me out. Not sure what to expect next. Maybe we should just duck and cover!

It would be great fot TCM to do a retrospective on Jose Ferrer. He was an outstanding actor who not only starred in good films such as "Moulin Rouge" and "Cyrano de Bergerac", but also directed one of the first media expose movies with "The Great Man". His career took a bad turn and he ended up in some really bad movies in the 1970's and 1980's, but he was still a very interesting actor. And he had one of the great voices in movies!!!

Does anyone know if TCM offers any kind of internship program? Thanks!

Musicals are so much fun. Even though they're sometimes cheesy, they're still fun. The more you watch them, the more you like them. Some of my favorites are:
Annie Get Your Gun
Swing Time (and all other Fred and Ginger movies)
Phantom of the Opera
Sound of Music
And many more!

I love TCM! Classics are the best and no commercials make it even better. Thanks TCM!
