> I typed 'Baldwin' into the search box up at the right corner but no threads resulted from the search. What am I doing wrong?
Dark,
On the main page of the Forums, at the top, is the Search box for the Forums.
It says: Search All Forums
You type the keyword you are looking for in there and it should bring up threads for that keyword, if there are any.
-
The easiest thing is to probably use the search function but here are some threads just from this year:

Mimi,
*Baby* was part of this year's *Essentials*. They typically film about 16-18 episodes each year.
But since *The Essentials* has more time slots than that, they do present encore presentations throughout the fall.

> Did you catch little Frankie in Roaring Rails the other night?
I didn't catch it in real time but I have it on my DVR!
Glad to hear that you and Glo and family are doing well.
Larry "Bud" and Jimmy Chan have, hopefully, been keeping out trouble as well.
-
The song is "Before You Go" by OK Sweetheart

Mighty Mo,
Welcome back! I can only imagine that Glo and the little Glo-Los have been keeping you busy!
How are their various dance routines going? Are you and Gloria having fun driving them around to all their gigs?
Hopefully, one of these days, they'll be going to Broadway and you and Gloria can get some rest!
-
Calvin,
Thank you for the list! That's great. And I agree with you, it's likely one or more studios and the lack of digital masters that is responsible for the delay.
But, one thing I have is faith in TCM and its programming department. As I learned with *Six Graves*, it may take a while (and longer than many anticipate) but if TCM can make it, they do.
Here's hoping for Joel McCrea in 2012!
-
> It's kind of brave of you that you admit that you watch Mad Men.
I don't watch movies on AMC but I adore *Mad Men* and have been watching since the beginning. I am also a big *Breaking Bad* fan and enjoy *The Walking Dead* and am trying to enjoy *Hell on Wheels*.

> Too bad that Edmund Gwenn isn't still alive to do something about it.
Ah, but Santa comes in many forms.
-
Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is for Joel McCrea to be SOTM sometime in 2012.
Thank you.

> Yes. When someone publicly posts that they hope I die a slow and painful death, I tend to lean in that direction
YIKES!
Please don't lean too far. I can't take losing you as well.I tried to PM you but your mail box is full.

>It does show though like in the movie about Patton that time is fleeting,
""For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade.
In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him.
Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.."

> Why doesn't TCM post the TCM Remembers video on their website?
They do. It usually gets posted to the Media Room a few days after it starts airing. Perhaps by the end of the week you could look again.
-
Helen,
Welcome back! Sounds like you had a terrific time sailing the ocean blue with TCM.
Thanks so much for sharing your memories with us. Hanging with Tom Brown is always fun and Bingo with Ben just makes me smile.
Can't wait to see on TCM the sneak preview you got to see first!
Get some rest and thank you again!

> I believe she is referring to members of the old guard being proactive by going after the trolls as soon as we recognized them
I didn't mean that all. I was talking about how bad behavior not only by trolls but by all of us can cause posters to leave the forums.
When the arguing gets overheated and personal here (and doesn't always involve trolls), collateral damage ensues and the fallout is that posters leave.
And whether we realize or not or if they do or don't, their loss is felt by those who remember them.
That's all I meant.

> both Susann and Harold Robbins share the "limelight" of literary smut associated to American publishing. While their books were popular, in as much as best sellers, the two are probably the great forerunners to what most know today as block-buster popular media trash.
Props should probably also go to Grace Metalious, the housewife who scored a major success with *Peyton Place* which was published in 1956.

> Fonde had occasionally played somewhat of a bad guy in the '30s.
If you are talking about Henry Fonda, by the time he did *Once Upon a Time in the West*, he was more known for his good guy roles and I don't know that, prior to this role, he had played a stone cold killer like that.

> Anyone else miss this?
Has it started running yet?
It usually starts running the middle of the month.

> Over at Silver Screen Oasis Message Board, they have a registration procedure set up by their administrators to decide who may or may not be accepted on their board. You have to give them personal information.
Rey,
I just wanted to clarify this a bit. While the SSO is a moderated board, our approval process is pretty straight forward and not unlike a variety of forums around the web. All are welcome to join and we do not ask for any more personal information than what is required to join here. Nor do we ask for any sort of fee to become a member.
> I know and I think you remember a few years ago when good and decent posters who were taunted and followed by these trolls and caused many good people to leave the board forever.
I remember those dark days as well and they led to more board moderation, first Mary and Renee and now Michael.
But, as the arguments in the message board archives remind us, we as a community are just as capable of bringing this place to the brink as any of the chronic troublemakers who have tried to wreck havoc here in the past.
We've lost a number of good posters over the years and it wasn't all due to chronic troublemakers.
I do not mean this as a way of absolving the wreckage that chronic troublemakers have caused here but just a reminder that they were not alone in causing some of the wars and wreckage that have roiled this community off and on for the last half a dozen years.

Joe,
I had the opportunity to meet Tommy Kirk last year when he came to Disney Family Museum for a program. He now lives in Oregon.
We had Tim Considine and David Stollery (Spin and Marty) here last month as well!
Ah, memory lane.

> Well, if he was banned from posting why then is he allowed to continue to sign on?
Rey,
I think the reason is because when someone registers to join the TCM Website it's not just for access to the message boards. Some people register just for access to the message boards but many people register to join to get the monthly newsletter, the monthly schedule, play the Games, Film Festival information and updates (as well as the Cruise), special screenings, etc and never visit the message boards.
That's one reason why we see new posters with registration dates going back a few to many years. They joined years ago but didn't come to the message boards until recently.
While BillyBrown (or anyone else who is banned) is not allowed to post here anymore, they are able to log in and visit other parts of the website and still receive information they signed up for.
It sounds like TCM doesn't want to totally alienate a viewer by banning them completely from the site and information they have signed up to receive but does acknowledge that problem posters who disrupt the message boards should not have access to this particular part of the site where they are wrecking havoc.
Just my two cents and should not be taken as anything but that.

> I would adore seeing, "It's a Wonderful Life" without commercials on TCM. When will this be happen?
Seren,
I think we would all love to see TCM air *Wonderful Life*.
Unfortunately, NBC has a long-term exclusive broadcast contract for *Wonderful Life*. Because it's an exclusive contract, other channels aren't able to broadcast the film.
The NBC contract runs for a few (if not more) more years.

> BabyJFJR wrote: I'm forced to take issue with the above quote because I find it offensive. Why shouldn't we care whether or not Robert Osbourse is accurate?
I could be totally off base here but when I read easterlingnurse's post, I thought she/he was referring to all the talk in this thread by fans about Robert O's alleged facelift, not the mistakes made by his staffer.

> Izcutter, Are you responding to me??? If you are, my name isn't Michael, it's Sheldon.
I was responding to you but I wasn't calling you Michael. I was referring to the new WebAdmin and the fact that he takes a much more hands-on approach to board moderation.. His name, by the way, is Michael:
I wrote:
Michael (his name), the new WebAdmin (his title), seems to be taking a more hands-on approach to board moderation than we have seen in the past.
I added the parentheses to make it more evident.
