  1. *Just asking, so verbal/written slaps on the wrist to "be patient" are really not necessary.* Lydecker, Sorry about that. It wasn't meant as a slap on the wrist. It was meant more for the general audience here than for you or anyone in particular. It's surprising how vocal posters can get about their right (as if it's in the Declaration of Independence) to have the future schedule now: http://forums.tcm.com/thread.jspa?threadID=152171&start=50&tstart=0
  2. James, I think part of the problem with guest vs users, is that most people don't log in to visit the overall TCM website. I think they get counted as guests along with posters here who have been logged out due to inactivity. To actually participate in the message boards, you have to be logged in and I think that is what qualifies one as a user. A large number of viewers use the TCM website without ever logging in thus accounting for the disproportionate number of guests vs users. But, then, I could be totally off-base.
  3. *I thought they were posting new schedules the 1st of the month now??* Lydecker, It doesn't always arrive on the 1st of the month. Sometimes, it arrives very early and there have been months when the link wasn't activated until the middle of the month. But, the bottom line is that they ultimately do get posted. About a year or so ago, there was an entire thread taking TCM to task for not printing the third month schedule as early as some posters would like. It was a thread that ended up being filled with an incredible sense of self-entitlement by some for what is essentially a courtesy provided to us denizens of the message board. Hopefully, that won't happen here. No other cable network provides a schedule three months out for their fans. But, TCM does. The schedule is likely still be worked on (though it will be still be a work in progress when it is posted) and will be available in the next few days. Sometimes, being patient pays off.
  4. Chief, Very cool posters this year! I think you may have outdone last year! And a big welcome to Smileys, great to have another train lover (and legs) here! Yay!
  5. K, There's good news and bad news. The bad news first: The image code has not worked in the General Discussions forum since the upgrade. The good news: The old image code of applying exclamation points to the beginning and end of the picture URL does still work in all the other forums as does FredCDobbs method which also allows for resizing. The other good news is that the WebAdmins and TCM are aware that about the problem with posting images in the General Discussions forum and we are told a solution is being worked on. Hope that helps!
  6. *Am I right to assume the Mr. Cutter is licensed by TCM to give out this information on these schedules? If he isn't, I wonder where he got it.* Well, as I have frequently suggested, a little research would clear this up in no time. It would also reveal that in the last seven years that I have been a member of this forum, I don't think I have ever been the first person to start a "______ schedule is up!" thread. I respond to them, sure, but I have never been the one that starts the threads or provides the links. That is done, as many have pointed out repeatedly in this thread, by other long-time posters who have figured out the back door access to schedules that are always a work in progress and that TCM provides to us message board denizens as a courtesy. Those links and those threads can be found by searching the message board archives. As for the links I provided in this thread, I copied them from other threads as I have repeatedly explained in various posts. As I have frequently noted in this thread alone, a little research on your part would go along ways to providing the answers you seek.
  7. >Anyone know if TCM has the "rights" to screen this? I 'm pretty sure they've shown Night and the City before, but it was a while ago. I checked the schedule, and it doesn't seem to be playing anytime soon.> MsW, It's a Fox film. While Fox is working more with TCM these days, most of the rentals of their films come with strings attached as to how many air plays and a limit on the number of months the film can be rented for. Does anyone know if it shows up on FMC?
  8. Hey Roy, The good news is that it sounds like it is in rotation so I am hoping you get the chance to see all of it! As you can tell, it's really good! Happy Trails back to you! Dale Ro, Here's hoping!!!!
  9. Robbie, I'm with you on the Drive-In Double Features! And kudos to the On-Air Promo department for another great promo that captures the spirit of these films!
  10. I wanted to let you guys know that the Harry Carey, Jr remembrance of John Wayne is airing again on TCM. I think it first aired about ten years ago (I'm mid-century modern and can't remember facts the way I used to, but I don't think I'm alone in this) but hasn't been seen much since. But I could be wrong and it could be new. I caught it on Saturday morning prior to *Buck Rogers*. Here's hoping it is back in rotation as it is a very lovely remembrance and very well put together. Kudos to all involved! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqUkbgkbKKI And here's hoping that one of these days TCM is able to talk Dobe into sitting down with Robert O as a guest programmer or, barring a long trip to Atlanta (from Santa Barbara where the Careys live), perhaps a trip to Hollywood as part of the TCM Film Festival! Here's hoping!
  11. Chief, Re: *The Black Stallion* That is absolutely gorgeous! I love the haunting quality of it and it looks almost three dimensional!
  12. *I have tried a dozen different settings and nothing helps. I have the volume cranked about as high as it will go, on the movie right now and if I step out of the room, I can barely hear a dang thing.* Jeffrey, I just tuned my tv to TCM and the audio level for *Starlift* (the film currently playing) is just fine. In fact, I was watching *The Chicago Code* on another channel and did not have to adjust the audio level for *Starlift*. I have Comcast up here in the City by the Bay. I think Val may be on to something concerning your cable/satellite provider and it being on their end. Who are you with? We've had complaints here on the boards lately of some folks getting the SAP channel on TCM instead of the primary audio channel and the problem being with their cable/satellite provider, so maybe this could be something similar?
  13. *Well It is now, and I am growing weary of it fast. What happened? Is anyone else having the same issue?* Jeffrey, I was watching TCM over the weekend and have had no problem with the audio level. I wonder if the speaker in your television is going bad.
  14. *a while back tcm scheduled Resturant (1965), a short warhol film featuring the late great edie sedgwick, i looked forward to finally viewing this ultra rare flick for over three months only to have tcm delete it from their schedule the night before it was scheduled to air.* RM68, When a film gets pulled from the schedule it usually means that either there was some underlying rights issue that popped up or the studio/distributor was unable to provide a digital master of the film. If it was a rights issue (and they can pop up at the last minute), that issue will have to be worked out before TCM can broadcast the film.
  15. Chief, That's a rousing Tarzan poster but, having just watched the movie last evening, I don't remember Nancy Kelly wearing any get-up that looked like the one in the poster! Boolah-Boolah! as they say in the movie.
  16. *Did anyone happen to get Chapter's 4 and 5, The Sky Patrol and The Phantom Plane on DVR or recorded DVD?* Audrey, Were those from a few weeks back? If so, I had the same problem. My DVR only recorded about 6 minutes of each episode. I thought it was Comcast's fault. Now, maybe not????
  17. *WOOH-HOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!* Suex2 is in the house and sharing her incredible sartorial insights and Festival stories! I can't wait to read more!!!!!!

  19. If you access the monthly schedule from the links provided a few posts down: May - http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2011-05-01 June - http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2011-06-01 July - http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2011-07-01 August - http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?sdate=2011-08-01 In the upper right hand corner of each schedule, you can select your time zone and above the time zone is a printer icon. If you press the printer icon, it should print out the schedule for your selected time zone and the page count is approximately 26 pages.
  20. *since tcm destroyed the old one and probabily will not bring it back* They didn't destroy it. When the upgraded the website they took it down so they could retool it because people were complaining about a number of issues with it. TCMWebAdmin has written in the Tech Forum that *Suggest a Movie* will return, later this month, though it is looking more likely in June. And Bill is right, there are threads about this, here: http://forums.tcm.com/thread.jspa?threadID=159087&tstart=0 and a whole forum, here: http://forums.tcm.com/forum.jspa?forumID=414
  21. *And, though my personal favorite for classic films are crime/noir/suspense entries, Eddie Muller does just fine with his Noir fest. Hard to replicate his film introductions/discussions with anyone else.* David, While I agree with you about Eddie Muller, one of the things MrCutter and I heard time after time over all four days from people all over the country was the lack of theaters in their home towns and cities that show classic films. For many TCM fans and festival goers, those four days in Hollywood are their only opportunity to see films the way they weren't meant to be seen.
  22. Suex2, I am so happy you are "relishing" my recaps! Hopefully, you feel like you are back in Hollywood at the FF! Thank you so much for the kind words!
  23. *Young Jackie's head is as big as mom's and stepdad's! YOW!* But it gives credence to that whole face symmetry and head size that separates the truly beautiful film stars from the rest of us.
  24. Welcome back, Rich! You have no idea how much we've missed you!
  25. If you haven't checked out the schedule pages in the last two days, it might be worth a visit. Looks like many of the problems (too many pages to print out, time zone snafus, Remind Me button, etc) have been fixed.
